The New York Times picks up where I left off, reporting on Team Romneys reaction to the attacks from Mitts rivals on his tenure at Bain Capital. The news is not particularly reassuring:
Although the advisers had always expected that Democrats would malign Mr. Romneys work of buying and selling companies, they were largely unprepared for an assault that came so early in the campaign and from within the ranks of their own party, those involved in the campaign discussions said.
Even as Mr. Romney coasted to victory in New Hampshire, they worry that the critique could prove more potent as the race shifts to South Carolina, where shuttered mills dot the landscape, unemployment is higher and suspicion of financial elites is not limited to left-leaning voters.
They should be concerned, given that New Hampshire and Iowa have among the lowest unemployment rates in the country. But many more people should be concerned that behind a facade of denial of the Bain issue, Team Romney was surprised it already came up. During the last presidential nomnination campaign, John McCain raised the Bain issue. Duncan Hunter raised a Bain issue. And Mike Huckabee raised the Bain issue, recycling a lefty conspiracy theory, but most famously in his pre-Iowa quip on the Tonight Show: People are looking for a presidential candidate who reminds them more of the guy they work with rather than the guy that laid them off. There is no way these attacks (regardless of their ultimate merit) should have surprised Mitt Romney or his campaign.

Great reply to my post :-)
Thanks for my new tagline FRiend.
He started it. Payback is a bitch. Rush is right.
Ron Paul is not now, nor has he ever been, a Republican.
We, the people of the USA, once had a Republic.
Through a series of increasingly bad choices between the lessor of evils in our corrupted two party political system, we threw it away.
“Romney is not the cure he is the disease. The other candidates better get together and figure how they can derail this train to totalitarianism.”
Drawing straws works for me. Romney must be crushed.
Gingrich - Adulterer pig
Santorum - Thief of Grandma's social security
Paul - Addled old fool
Perry - Always sounds stupid
I don't like Romney but he is done alright. Done finishing off his opponents.
Using vulgar remarks is easy. Can you make an intellectual argument?
I too am starting to think the RNC is purposely trying to throw the election... as I think they purposely threw the 2008 election with McCain.
I have no idea why, but something is up.
He’s gotten this far because the press, GOP elites and Dems want him to run. They know Bam and his coterie will wipe the floor with him. Those open primaries are great if you’re Romney.
Don’t forget the all important John Bolton endorsement /s
Why would you be surprised? Mitt Romney didn’t even think Brett Baier was going to ask him about Romneycare last month and got all petulant about the question. Romney and his team are an extremely arrogant bunch who think their crap don’t stink. That’s a common thread running through his career at Bain and his political (non-)career. He is an amateur with no experience at anything who coasted through life. It’s extremely easy for a millionaire to make money raiding desperate, failing companies. That’s the financial equivalent of a guy picking up crack whores in the ghetto for pocket change.
I find that bizarre. Romney is a socialist.
I’m finding that any correspondent on foxnews that wants to continue to get airtime has to jump on the big gov train.
I gave up on TV 4 years ago. I don’t miss it.
I have no idea why, but something is up.
I think they really like things the way they are. They prefer being the "opposition" so they can blame stuff on the Democrats, all the while sitting back and enjoying the same perks.
Newt Gingrich was on Greta tonight and he fully, and I mean FULLY, intends to kick romney’s liberal a$$ all the way back to Massachusetts.
I hope so!!!
Ads taking chunk out of Mitten’s arse too...
New Poll has Romney Gingrich Tied, Santorum fading distant 3rd

It’s Gingrich vs. Romney now that the real races are on.
Gingrich will win the South.
When will the voters learn?
You can't teach an old RINO...
