OKMULGEE — The owner of an auto salvage yard shot one of six people he believed to be burglarizing his business Saturday.

Okmulgee County sheriff's deputies said the owner of A&A Auto Salvage, in the 21000 block of South 236 Road between Okmulgee and Schulter, interrupted six people he said were trying to break into his business about 2 p.m. Saturday.

The business owner, whose name was not released, shot one person and the other five fled.

The person who was shot was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Tulsa. That person's name and medical condition were not released.

Deputies, state troopers and other law enforcement officers helped capture all five of those who fled the business, Undersheriff Fred McGuire Jr. said in a news release.
