JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) - The woman who shot at an intruder in her Jefferson County home last night, allegedly had a lot of pot in her house.
Jefferson County Deputies say they found several pounds of marijuana packaged for distribution in Judith Gilberts home.
The 53-year-old is now in jail, charged with felony drug possession with intent to distribute.
Gilbert told police that a man used pepper spray to force his way into her home last night. After she shot at him he fled and remains at large. Its not known if he was wounded.

Sheriffs investigators now say that a violent home break-in in Jefferson County Thursday night may have been narcotics related.
A woman answering a knock at her door in 3600 block of Telegraph Rd. around 8 p.m. was pepper-sprayed in the face by a masked man, who then forced his way inside.
The two struggled but the 53-year-old woman managed to break free and run to a bedroom where she grabbed a handgun.
When the intruder forced his way into the bedroom, the woman fired several shots and the man ran off.

This is St Louis....things like this happen daily.
Why would you call the police before you moved the pot out of the house?
She was stoned??
Because there is so much dope, and so many dopes in St Louis people forget it’s still a crime.
I would bet her response to the police was something like;
“But that ain’t why ya’ll is here. Ain’t nobody said nothin’ about no weed.”

I suspect a lot of these “home invasion” stories have some sort of similar genesis in the drug business and the invaders are trying to rip off dealers.
Dealers are considered easy targets by hijackers since they mostly don’t report thefts to the police. Of course, since they don’t want the police involved, the dealers are usually armed and dangerous to the hijackers.
In Houston a few years ago a gang of hijackers wore jackets with insignia and printing that mimiced the police in order to gain entrance to drug dealers homes. One got shot and their scam was exposed.
