Tea Partiers owed an apology for political Tucson narrative

On the one-year anniversary of the shooting rampage at a Tucson, Ariz., supermarket, nothing was more appropriate than to grieve the six people Jared Loughner is charged with murdering and marvel at the recovery of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. In just 12 months she went from death’s door to belting out the Pledge of Allegiance at a vigil held on Sunday at the University of Arizona. Reports suggest the tone there was suitably inclusive and sombre.

That having been done, it is also appropriate to recall the astonishing finger-pointing ritual many commentators performed in the wake of the shooting. Some accused Sarah Palin of outright complicity, on grounds she had released a graphic depicting certain electoral districts, Ms. Giffords’ included, in gunsights. “Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ blood is on Sarah Palin’s hands,” read a New York Daily News headline.

There were broader accusations that overheated and socalled “eliminationist” rhetoric – “It’s time to take down Congressman Lilyliver” – had contributed to the rampage. “There has … been a rising tide of threats and vandalism aimed at elected officials, including both Judge John Roll, who was killed Saturday, and [Ms. Giffords],” Paul Krugman wrote in The New York Times. “One of these days, someone was bound to take it to the next level. And now someone has.”

“What Fox News has sown is now being reaped,” John Doyle intoned in The Globe and Mail.

Less offensive, though somehow even more frustrating, were commentators who properly conceded they had no idea what motivated the killer, but still felt compelled to weave the atrocity into a conversation about modern politics. “The Tucson carnage … urgently reminds that political rhetoric has consequences and that public debate is poisoned by toxic politics...

The Killer is a low life scum bag. He was not ever part of any conservative group. He needs to have one nut connected to positive and the other nut to negative then slowly turn the power to over 440 volts 20 amps.
Debbie Washerwoman Schlitz is attempting to blame everything on the TEA PARTY.
If any group is to blame it would be the occutards. However I don't think they were to blame. IT WAS THE PERP AND NOBODY ELSE.
He needs to be fried. Turned into a KRISPY KRITTER.

What is also missing is that this was enabled by the rabid DumicRAT partisanship lies broadcast on TV of Sheriff Dupnik of Pima County. Who had FAILED in his duty to provide security for Gabby's rally.

While the left and their media repeatedly publish false accusations and fabricated innuendo, it was Obama and his wife that tuned what should have been a solemn memorial into a cheap campaign event cloned from the Paul Wellstone hate fest.

Wasn’t Sarah Palin already living in Arizona when the shootings happened? The Rats in Arizona must be truly scared of her. I hope she runs for US Senator.
