Tim LaHaye, the co-author of the best-selling Christian book series “Left Behind,” and his wife, Beverly, plan to endorse Newt Gingrich’s bid for president, The Daily Caller has learned from three sources.

The campaign learned of the endorsement from the influential Christian conservatives Thursday night, one source said. That person told TheDC that the campaign is “very encouraged” by it. (RELATED: Full coverage of Newt Gingrich’s campaign)

LaHaye’s “Left Behind” series sold more than 63 million books. It’s the bestselling Christian fiction series in history, according to its website.

Can you point to the inaccuracy? Calling names is the easy part, that is sometimes called the “refuge of the ignorant” How ironic.

Quite easy.

I found God, was "born-again" as Christ commanded Nicodemus, not through the traditions of the Catholic Church but through the gospel of Jesus Christ preached by a former Roman Catholic protestant minister.

The basis of your Heretical statement, correct me if I am wrong, is mainly the traditions of sinful men, not the Bible.

Sounds like you’re way behind on learning the Church’s doctrine on ecumenism. John Paul says in his Encyclical Letter Ut Unum Sint: “This change of heart and holiness of life, along with public and private prayer for the unity of Christians, should be regarded as the soul of the whole ecumenical movement, and can rightly be called ‘spiritual ecumenism’”. And he adds, “Love builds communion between individuals and between Communities. If we love one another, we strive to deepen our communion and make it perfect”. “There can be no ecumenism worthy of the name without a change of heart”.

Even Benedict XVI, who regards The mother church as the one true church, opened the arms of our faith to welcome Anglicans and Episcopalians into the Catholic faith whose religion was hijacked by leftists. He is even allowing them to keep their liturgy and Book of Common Prayer.

In his address to non-Catholic Christians, the Holy Father said:

“I feel the fact that we consider one another brothers and sisters, that we love one another, that together we are witnesses of Jesus Christ, should not be taken so much for granted. I believe that this brotherhood is in itself a very important fruit of dialogue that we must rejoice in, continue to foster and to practice.”

“Among Christians, fraternity is not just a vague sentiment, nor is it a sign of indifference to truth. As you just said, bishop, it is grounded in the supernatural reality of the one baptism which makes us all members of the one body of Christ (cf. I Cor 12: 13; Gal 3: 28; Col 2: 12).”

“Together we confess that Jesus Christ is God and Lord; together we acknowledge him as the one mediator between God and man (cf. I Tm 2: 5), and we emphasize that together we are members of his body (cf. ‘Unitatis Redintegratio’, n. 22; ‘Ut Unum Sint’, n. 42).”

“Based on this essential foundation of baptism, a reality comes from him which is a way of being, then of professing, believing and acting. Based on this crucial foundation, dialogue has borne its fruits and will continue to do so.”

I suppose in this process you take your support from wherever you find it....but...

For a recent Catholic convert to be endorsed by the author of a book series that casts Catholics as lost and in error....well...it’s at least ironic.

If you can see me clapping my hands....

I am not Catholic, but I embrace them as my brothers and Sisters in Christ.

No way will either side have a problem with Newt Gingrich.

This is just another attempt to divide.

Won’t work.

Go Newt.

The Left Behind series has sold over 65 million books. This is a very big “get” and will help keep Newt’s momentum going in South Carolina.

Of course! We must even love our enemies. But we don’t put on blinders that we not recognize the wolves in sheep’s clothing or those who lead their followers astray.

Not ironic at all. Lehaye and most evangelicals know what Newt and Catholics know: We are electing a president, not a pope.

Since Evangelicals are the true anti-abortion, conservative voters, it seems unlikely that those ultra liberal, black militants consider themselves part of America’s Evangelicals.

Agreed- if that’s how you define them. Gay Lutheran bishops think of themselves as “true” Evangelicals too.

I wasn’t aware that they would call themselves something that is usually associated with ultra conservative Christians, but if “Gay Lutheran Bishops” do call themselves Evangelicals, I’ll bet that they vote like Catholics.

No, they’re not evangelical. I think you know that.

I’m a Catholic, and while we don’t recognize all their beliefs, many Protestant denominations are recognized by the Church. I am a convert, and my Presbyterian baptism was recognized as valid.

But you non-Christians just like to stir up trouble, don’t you?

Lutheran leader’s plea to Catholic bishops
Article by: HERBERT W. CHILSTROM December 8, 2011

Church leaders should embrace, engage all, says the former presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

But they call themselves as Evangelicals and endorse gay marriage.
Have you heard of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America? Check it out.

That’s what occurs when Evangelical nuts endorse a candidate.

There are a whole lot of freepers who fall into that category, including me.

They can call themselves whatever they want.

Heck, you’re doing it.

By their fruits ye shall know them...
