If you Google “Mitt Romney is a phony”, you get 102,000 hits. If you do the same search on “Rick Perry”, you get 51,800; “Ron Paul”, 32,300; and “Newt Gingrich”, 3,960. At the opposite end of the “authenticity” spectrum, if you Google “Herman Cain is a phony”, you get 8 hits.

When someone comes across as phony, it is because there is something that they are hiding. What Mitt Romney is hiding is that, while he passionately wants to have the most “strategic” executive job on the planet (and he may well get it), he is not a deep strategic thinker. He lacks what George H. W. Bush (who also lacked it) called, “The vision thing.”

Governor Romney views himself as a brilliant manager and problem solver, and he is right about this. His performance in turning around the troubled Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games was nothing short of dazzling. And, of course, he made a lot of money for a lot of people (including himself), as CEO of Bain Capital.

Romney, after watching the 28 minute feature show, whatever you think of him, just looks bad. The whole thing just ...looks BAD.

And if it looks bad to conservative folks like myself, just think how it’s going to play with average Amerians, suffering Americans.

Romney overall seems a decent enough guy at times, and at times I agree with what he says.

My problem with him is what he has DONE. We have his record as governor and it’s not going away any time soon. Whenever those issues are brought up he just parses, parses, parses.

The other guys got warts too but they don’t dodge and sidestep near as much, even Paul. I simply don’t trust Romney to do what he says.

BINGO!! It doesn't matter how you define capitalism, it only matters how it will be received by general voters, and we all know, Obama will serve it up UGLY. Mitt is not electable because of Bain. GOP can try to blame everything on Newt, but Newt AND Sarah have shined the vetting light on Mitt/Bain. Now Sarah is trying to get Mitt to provide 'proof' of his jobs claim and to show his tax returns. The jobs were created in Mexico and China. I am sure Obama knows this and it too will be used against Mitt in the general election. This won't fly with voters either. Only unknown is what is in his tax returns? Bet Obama knows. We have a chance of winning the election because of Newt and Sarah, IMO, IF we can show voters Mitt is unelectable, and run with Newt.
