Global warming is a hoax! Global warming is a hoax! Global warming is a hoax! Global warming is a hoax!
Lol @ the meta-irony here of Cass Sunstein engaging in conspiracy about conspiratorial thinking. What a projecting buffoon.
In a way, I want to see them try this. Social networking involves myriad political and social ideologies, and there would be absolutely no quicker way for this failure of an administration to isolate themselves than to start shutting down the sites that Internet-addicted teens and twenty-somethings use minute-by-minute.
This is seriously turning into something out of 1984/V for Vendetta. When are they going to start banning thought crimes?
We need a good ol fashion witch hunt!
You would be foolish to think this isn’t going on now.
And they would be foolish to think that it doesn’t go both ways.
Yes, Global Warming is a hoax. In total agreement with you, and millions of others.
Why don’t they all just wear black shirts and go around beating up people in the streets, criminalizing opposition and arresting their ‘enemies’ without due process??!
Isn’t that how it’s done? This is all so ugly
1) Internet ID's for all users
2) Infiltration of websites for "subversives" who dare to question the administration
3) NDAA -- which allows incarceration without due process for threats to the administration
1+2+3 brings us back to the days of the Gestapo and Stassi!
Here's how President Obama's head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs Cass Sunstein, describes FreeRepublic.com: "'group polarization,' where people segregate themselves so effectively online with other like-minded thinkers that they create an echo chamber where the group's worst and most malevolent opinions get reinforced and strengthened."
“Sunstein said government agents might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action.
Sunstein defined a conspiracy theory as an effort to explain some event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role.
Some conspiracy theories recommended for ban by Sunstein include:
The theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.
The view that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The 1996 crash of TWA flight 800 was caused by a U.S. military missile.
The Trilateral Commission is responsible for important movements of the international economy.
That Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by federal agents.
The moon landing was staged and never actually occurred.
Sunstein allowed that some conspiracy theories, under our definition, have turned out to be true.”
The Obots and the Warmist trolls are on the US Government payrolls.
I was on the grassy knoll.
Examples of some Websites, chat rooms or message boards to be EXEMPT from infiltration:
1) Democrat Underground
2) Kos Kids
4) Planned Parenthood
6) Anti-Gun websites
How can’t anyone be so blind as to continue to support Obama? This guy wants to literally criminalize people who don’t follow the party line. I’m trying to think of what governments have done that before. There’s one south of florida, on north of south korea, and another one in the northern most regions of europe.
In his 2009 book, On Rumors, Sunstein argued websites should be obliged to remove false rumors while libel laws should be altered to make it easier to sue for spreading such rumors.
In the book, Sunstein cited as a primary example of absurd and hateful remarks, reports by right-wing websites alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist William Ayers.
He also singled out radio talker Sean Hannity for attacking Obama regarding the presidents alleged associations.
Ayers became a name in the 2008 presidential campaign when it was disclosed he worked closely with Obama for years. Obama also was said to have launched his political career at a 1995 fundraiser in Ayers apartment.
He continued: The Watergate hotel room used by Democratic National Committee was, in fact, bugged by Republican officials, operating at the behest of the White House. In the 1950s, the CIA did, in fact, administer LSD and related drugs under Project MKULTRA, in an effort to investigate the possibility of mind control.
You say conspiracy, I say constitutionally protected conjecture and freedom of speech.
Reminds me of a real life situation where a couple had their kids taken away, by the government, because they displayed an "inordinate fear of the government".
"The government will punish you for 'theorizing' on how much the government is out to get you."
