Supreme Court delivers a knockout punch to the White House

Wednesday the United States Supreme Court delivered a knockout blow to the White House in the cause of religious liberty.

Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for a unanimous court swatted away the government’s claim that the Lutheran Church did not have the right to fire a “minister of religion” who, after six years of Lutheran religious training had been commissioned as a minister, upon election by her congregation.

The fired minister -- who also taught secular subjects -- claimed discrimination in employment. The Obama administration, always looking for opportunities to undermine the bedrock of First Amendment religious liberty, eagerly agreed.

There was just one big problem standing in the way of the government's plan: the U.S. Constitution.

This is also why offering plate money can never be taxed. It would involve the government in internal church religious worship and practice.

This would be different than the government changing law to prevent donations to churches being tax exempt.

The first involves taking money away from a church.
The second involves changing tax deductions for citizen tax payers.

This is the only outcome that makes sense. Looks like even Obama’s lapdogs did not want to burn their fingers on it.

This being unanimous tells me that they’re posturing for some major liberal outlooks on far more important issues in the future.

Was it the congregation or the church hierarchy that fired her? And for what?

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court delivered a knockout blow to the White House in the cause of religious liberty.

Now if only the Supreme Court can deliver another knockout blow to the White House in the cause of personal liberty by striking down the outrageous individual insurance mandate in Obamacare (which should knock out the whole darn scheme). Such a SCOTUS ruling would increase life expectancy in the United States by preventing government intrusion, via death panels, into private health care decisions by American citizens.

Maybe Obama's dissing of the Justices in his State of the Nation show had something to do with this.

In my Church, the Elders interview the prospective candidates and present them to the congregation for a second interview and a vote, it can get interesting and it works.

The lutheran church is an interesting organization to study. They used to be the largest protestant denomination in the US. What happened to them? Why are they falling apart? Is there anything in their story that other churches could learn from?

They forgot about what the Bible teaches and went for the knowledge of man. In other words, they became liberals.
