I am wondering what an 81 year old is doing on a bicycle riding on the highway anyway.
See post 42. I think the Lycra cuts off circulation to their brains.
That would be a Toyota Sequoia, I believe.
I thought he lived in Santa Fe? He used to eat at Harry’s
Roadhouse on Old Santa Fe Trail.
I have (or had, until it was destroyed in a recent accident) a helmet cam for use on my motorcycle. I record every ride and post up the highlights (or low-lights, as it were) of stupid drivers, riders, rare or cool vehicles, etc., etc.
Want to know who I see casually breaking traffic laws en masse the most, per capita? Bicyclists.

Changes in latitude...... changes in attitude
It’s a total party-island. Used to be huge for the college/party crowd when I would go. The most prayers I’d expect were to ward off hangovers, bedbugs and the crabs...
I think that if 90% of Hollywood actors got struck by cars and didn’t survive it would be a good thing for America.
Yes, built on the Tundra platform.
That’s not a tundra....
Fishing Capital of the World. This time of year the have the Big Bonefish Tournament normally hosted by G H W Bush. Often see the whole Bush Clan there. God Speed Gene Hackman. Ilamorada a slice of heaven in the Keys !
So you get to determine need and what vehicles other people can own. Who do you think you are, Obama?
That doesn’t make it a Tundra, though. (Thought it was a Highlander, but that’s a Sequoia.) Different vehicles - the Tundra has a stick axle rear, for starters, while the Seq has an independent rear suspension and the major frame changes to use it. The Seq is also much heavier than an unladen Tundra.
Bender you are bad
Love Unforgiven quote LOL!
He is okay
When I first hear about accident I went to TMZ.com first
The Sequoia he posted is built off a Tundra frame to start but the frame is very different from about the midpoint back to accomodate the independent rear suspension it has than the Tundra doesn’t. Not exactly the same vehicle at all.
Saw that movie on my very first date with my now DH. Great movie. Great memories!
Actor Gene Hackman was hit by a car while riding his bike in Islamorada on Friday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The 81-year-old actor was biking at mile marker 88.7, along the Old Road when he was injured.
Because of the remote location of the incident, Hackman was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, said publicist Susan Madore. Hackman was released after a few hours with very minor bumps and bruises, Madore said.
The Oscar-winning Hackman, who appeared in Hoosiers, The French Connection and Poseidon Adventure, regularly goes fishing with former UM and Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson in Islamorada, where both men own homes

I’ve counted only 8 replies taking you to task for your idiotic reply. That’s not enouugh.
You are a moron.
There. That’s 9. And counting....
There is no highway there just US 1 and the speed limit in town is 45
Come back! I was gonna make espresso!!!
Islam-orada???? Hey, get well Gene. Loved your movies esp. Moosport and Hoosiers.
JJ’s boat is called the Three Rings, looks like about a 48 ft Bertram or Hatteras
Good news about Hackman injuries being minor, he doesn’t deserve to go out that way
I was there 54 years ago, I imagine it has built up a bit since then.
Mr Hackman was injured by the hardware of a Toyota Tundra platform, regardless if it was cutely decorated as a pickup truck or an SUV.
“Wait, I was making espresso!”
Great minds, etc.,etc.
Little Bill from Unforgiven
How do you know this person was just "toolin' around town" in a truck? Maybe that person needs a truck for their business or lifestyle. What do you care what any other person drives anyway?
Are you one of those who wants to see Americans forced out of their trucks and SUVs, and into government approved econo boxes?
First movie I remember him in was “Bonnie and Clyde”. Loved “Hoosiers” but my favorite was “Bite the Bullet”.
“The Conversation” is my fave.
Light trucks and SUVs are not off-road vehicles. It takes a fair amount of investment to make them suitable for that purpose.
I'm a contractor with four kids and a wife. I drive a truck for business, and we have an SUV that fits a family of six (and all of our stuff).
People like me have a real need for these vehicles, but even if I weren't a contractor, and didn't have four kids at home, we might still drive the same vehicles because we like them, and we still have the choice to do so.
Gene Hackman is a wonderful, often overlooked actor.
Was glad to read your update. Thanks.
Oh, you want to tell me what to drive and how much gas I should use? Well I think I’ll tell you that you shouldn’t be posting here, this is a board for conservatives who value their freedoms and that includes driving whatever vehicle they choose.
It’s going to take a much larger vehicle than a truck running over him to kill Mr. Hackman. It may take a tank.
I swear, there is so many ignorant assholes on the main forum you can’t even have a decent conversation anymore. Hope someone can go get your ride for ya!
Why? The Toyota Tundra is a pickup truck.
Mr. Mercat is pushing 70 and rides all winter long here in Kansas. Summer he does at least one long cross the state ride. Nice legs for an old guy and a great butt.
Pack it in. Around here we value our individual liberties to buy and own what we want to buy and own. You're on the wrong damned website - go try a liberal site, you'll obviously be more welcome there.
Other poster actually posted a sequoia, tundra frame but SUV style, I have owned both, good vehicles, and good for many things on the road too, not just off
Can’t Hackman afford a Mercedes?
The Conversation and Bite the Bullet were his best, but never saw a bad role Hickman did.
Look up TUNDRA... its a pickup. You pic is a Sequoia.
I live in Florida and own 2 Tundra’s. One has 420,000 miles on it. I don’t get what you are talking about. By the way it is not an SUV but rather a pick up truck.
Huh? I've only ever heard it pronounced "ees-lah-more-ah-dah.
This all-new, Toyota Tundra-based full-size sport-ute will go onsale in late 2000. Sequoia shares the Tundra's platform and 240-horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 engine. The Sequoia and Tundra will be built alongside each other in Indiana.
