US acts to hold Israel back from striking Iran. Their intel agencies at odds

The bombing attack in Tehran which killed Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan last Wednesday, Jan. 11, generated an angry phone call from US President Barack Obama to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the next day, DEBKAfile's Washington and intelligence sources report. Washington is increasingly concerned, the Wall Street Journal reported Saturday, that Israel is preparing to strike Iran's nuclear sites over US objections and has bolstered the defenses of US facilities in the region in case of a conflict. Obama, Defense and Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been sending private messages to their Israel contacts warning them about the dire consequences of a strike, the paper reports.

Obama seemed to suspect that Israel staged the killing to torpedo yet another US secret effort to avoid a military confrontation with Iran through back channel contacts with Tehran, while the administration’s extreme condemnation is seen as tying in with its all-out campaign to hold Israel back from a unilateral strike.
As part of this campaign, the Foreign Policy publication ran an “investigative report” Friday, Jan. 13, the point of which was to show that US and Israeli undercover agencies have been at odds for years after what was called a Mossad “false flag” operation. “Two US intelligence officers” are said to have revealed to the publication that in 2007 and 2008, Israeli Mossad officers posing as US intelligence agents with American passports recruited terrorist group Jundallah operatives for covert attacks in Iran.
This Pakistan-based Baluchi extremist group was described as utterly shunned by the CIA.
The weekly’s sources said they were “stunned by the brazenness of Mossad’s recruiting activities…under the nose of US intelligence officers, most notably in London.”
They implied that Jundallah were sure they had been recruited by US intelligence. But so was Tehran. The Israeli “false flag” program was therefore accused of putting American agents at risk.

Maybe it was a false “false flag” operation whereby
the CIA used fake Mossad agents pretending to be CIA?
Double deniability, sort of like super secret probation.

Either way works for me.

-——The chances of that are growing——

Perhaps not.

Five nuc guys have been offed.

A nuc site was destroyed on the surface. A missile site was extensively destroyed with large loss of life. A Second missle installation along with a major commander was extensively damaged. The computers have been severely degraded by hackers on two separate instances.

Syria may not be Assad land long.

Life for an Iranian Mullah must be very vexing right now

Taken as a whole, someone is winning and it certainly is not Iran. We do not know a tenth of what is transpiring. That may also be true for the omnicious messiah

"Let's see... when will O'Bummer turn and betray Israel?"

He's been doing that for awhile. The only question is how overt his attack on Israel will become now.

Yeah right, the USA will do what ever Israel tells it to do. Look at the U.S.S. Liberty. Attacked by Israel and the USA covered it up. Now we are going to war with Iran for Israel. Go figure.

In 2008 the Israelis asked Bush for support to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities, but Bush did refused the Israeli request.

I doubt he says much at all. After Obozo, our clown for a Pres, totally snubbed him when he was here- make no mistake as Israel will act according to their best interests. They can ill afford to trust this admin. Obama cannot even see that the strait is only half of the shipping problem. A bit to the south is Yemen. They are fighting terrorists funding by Iran in Yemen. No,we do not need Iran controlling that water access/choke point either.

I’ll say it again, there is scant evidence that any Administration in the last thirty years has any other intention for Israel that it be constantly, barely, clinging to life as a nation.

The Massive Ordnance Penetrator Will Be the Largest Non-Nuclear Bomb Ever

“The Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, is a 30,000-pound bomb that would dive deeper than any previous bomb, and could be strapped to B-2 or B-52 bombers by July of 2010.
The MOP is 20 feet long and can penetrate bunkers up to 200 feet before exploding. At 15 tons, the MOP is a third heavier than the previous “mother of all bombs”,...”

It supposedly asked for Allah’s....oops...I mean, God’s help in terrorizing...oops, I mean leading America.

They know exactly what needs to be done and they will do it with or without the blessing of the USA.

Iran is a paper tiger, completely weak. Left to their own devices its regime will blow away, much like the USSR.

Here’s a thought experiment to consider:

You’re USCENTCOM and the phone rings. It’s Barry. “General, the DCI just called. He says that the Israeli Air Force is launching an air strike against Iran tomorrow. As Commander-in-Chief, I order you to use every means at your disposal to stop that strike.” And then he hangs up before you can reply.

What do you do?

You are leaving out one little detail that is now public knowledge: The USS Liberty was actively transmitting information about Israel’s military positions and weaponry to Israel’s enemies during a time of war. This current event is not the first time the US has betrayed Israel. Sadly, under this administration, it probably won’t be the last.
