First Time in 16 Years: A Standing "O" given at a Debate. (Vanity)
January 17, 2011 | no dems

Posted on 01/17/2012 4:12:55 AM PST by no dems

Frank Lunz was on the FOX Post Debate Analysis last night after South Carolina Debate. He made the statement that in 16 years of following Debates, that was the first time he'd ever seen a candidate get a Standing Ovation. Newt did not just get a Standing "O" from his supporters but, by-and-large from the entire crowd when he defended his comment about Barack Obama being the "Food Stamp President" and his stance on young Blacks needing a work ethic rather than government assistance.

Newt didn't just "knock it out of the park" once last night. He "knocked it out of the park" several times. I'm telling you; when the dust settles, if the two major Party nominees are Newt and Obama, Newt will mop the floor with the Marxist in Chief. And, refute this if you want, but most Americans, especially those who are not political junkies and are not tremendously informed, make up their mind as to whom they will vote for by watching the Debates. I've observed this since 1960. The Debates are the tipping points in the elections. Therefore, I submit that Mitt Romney is NOT the most electable Pubbie running. Newt Gingrich is the one who can defeat Barack Obama.

After the SC Primary, it might be time for the two "Ricks" to drop out and get behind Newt, if he places ahead of them next Saturday after the votes are tallied.

I would ONLY want to see Newt debate “O”.

The prospect of debating Newt has “O” shaking in his shoes.

Mitt cannot and I think, will not SUCCESSFULLY debate “O”.

For the remaining Americans who are still undecided, the debate showdown is the ONLY thing that can save/ruin the “O” re election chances.

In his first Presidential campaign, “O” enjoyed a real advantage since he was the first minority candidate for that office… he got a lot of leniency from voters and debate judges.

NOT so now!! It’s a golden opportunity for our candidate to take “O” apart, in detail!!! (McCain couldn’t or wouldn’t, and that’s history).

We need to have our best man in the Presidential debates this time! (It ain’t Mitt)

Perry will probably be convinced to drop out after South Carolina, if he doesn’t do well.

I can see Santorum staying in, if he scores well amongst the Evangelicals and Catholics, so it might take some deal making to get him to get out.

Don't forget, IT'S MITT'S TURN!!

I don't feel very optimistic right now.

Start at about 9:40. Really outstanding. I really don't see how even a liberal can disagree with what Newt said. He will crush Hussein.

After Santorum’s huge lie in last nights debate, I think he is toast.

I had to cringe when he was called out for voting for mandatory trigger locks and closing the ‘so called’ gun show loophole. Then he lied and said the NRA supported that.

There is no way gun owners will let that slide, he is toast.

Obama ain't gonna debate—it can only hurt him cause he won't have total control of the message—he has his billion and the MSM to do that.
Nixon debated JFK and lost—he DIDN'T debate Humphrey or McGovern and WON—crooks learn from each other.

If there are no debates Newt will be useless and with his baggage and Obama’s billion—worse than useless.

GO SANTORUM!

The prospect of debating Newt has “O” shaking in his shoes.

And the positive reactions to Newt had Mitt stuttering and stammering last night too!

If Newt should pull off a win in South Carolina, I agree, both Ricks should withdraw and line up behind the Speaker.

If Newt is successful in derailing Romney’s campaign, on his short list of VP candidates should be Rick Perry, if for no other reason than to lock down the chunk of electoral votes that Texas brings to the equation.

Speaking of the electoral college, this is how I view a potential 0bama/Gingrich contest:

The Northeast? 0bama territory with the possible exceptions of Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. 0bama is likely to hold on to New York.

The Midwest? 0bama holds Illinois. That should surprise nobody. Even if 0bama were to sodomize a goat on live TV in the Oval Office, then decapitate it screaming ‘allah akbar’ and drink its blood, the criminal machine in Chicago would make sure he got the most votes in that godforsaken state. But for Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Missouri, Kansas? Tally them up for Newt.

The South? Newt sweeps the entire region from Virginia to Florida to Texas, a sea of red.

The West? Arizona and New Mexico are tossups, California, Oregon and Washington State are likely to stay in the ‘Rat camp while Jerry Brown rearranges the deck chairs, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Montana, North and South Dakota will go for Newt, Minnesota and Iowa for 0bama, Wisconsin for Newt, likewise for Nebraska.

This is just off the top of my head and I may have neglected to mention some states, but if Newt is the nominee, it is his election to lose.

“Your mileage may vary”

Let’s hope Newt keeps it up.

No amount of political manipulations will ultimately stop him, if he does as well as he did last night.

After last night, I don’t see how Newt does not take SC.

If Newt stops Romney in SC with another boffo performance on Thursday’s CNN debate he will doing the GOP and America an ENORMOUS service.

Rove just came of Fox and Friends to talk about Gingrich and last night.

Changed the channel—I don’t pay attention to Tokyo Rove anymore.
