Walker Appearance Draws Hisses At MLK Event

MADISON, Wis. -- Protesters hissed and chanted "shame" at Gov. Scott Walker after he read a proclamation at the state's official Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday ceremony in the Capitol rotunda.

Walker spoke briefly at the event Monday afternoon that attracted hundreds of people and featured a gospel choir from Chicago, a youth choir from Madison and a keynote speech from University of Maryland law professor Sherrilyn Ifill.

She elicited loud applause during her comments when she said that King would not have approved of laws requiring voters to present photo identification at the polls. Walker signed a photo ID law last year.

Ifill also drew applause when she said King would have stood up for worker rights.

Walker has been targeted for recall after he took on public sector union rights.

The jeers lasted seconds, as the ceremony focused on King's life instead of current politics. A diverse audience gathered to listen to songs and speeches that honored King.

Possibly true. Depends on what advice he was getting on the issue from his Communist Party USA handlers. One more reason to admire Walker.

Must be the color of his skin.

It sure wasn’t the content of his character.

Go Walker!

Liberals believe in re-creating the Soviet Union with unions, politicians and bureaucrats making the rules where they can take from the rich until the only people who eat are connected people and the black market thrives as the capitalistic parallel system.

Voting should only be for people paying taxes. Unions should not be allowed to represent Government workers. Borders need to be enforced, and anchor babies deported.

There are ways to fix it, but Wolf Blitzer, Joe Klein and Nancy Pelosi could lose power and influence.

Over 80% of polled voters support voter id laws. If the Republicans were smart they would get much louder about the Rats opposition to them and their real reason why.

Leftists love to twist the real message MLK put forth to suit their own twisted agenda.

Most of them, as a group, aren’t.

So low property taxes, no state worker layoffs, and a balanced state budget is RACIST!

Governor Walker is the most courageous politician in the USA (I know that’s a low bar, but he soars over it. The man does what’s right, and lets the chips fly. I wish he’d run for President.)

Bunch of idiots. Do they not see what he has done to help turn around the economy in Wisconsin? And do they not realize that unions require ID to vote? Blind morons.

Funny you mention that. How many Wisconsin state union employees do you think are black? How many union members, period, have historically been black? Methinks part of the point of unions is to keep the dark hordes from competing down the white man’s labor prices.

She is a cousin of PBS Obama-worshipping anchor Gwen Ifill and specializes in fighting “white supremacy.” Whoever invited her to be the keynote speaker obviously wanted to embarrass Gov. Walker as much as possible. Our-of-state speaker and out-of-state gospel choir—they don’t have anyone qualified in Wisconsin?

Well, isn't that special....

You would think that they could find some local talent. Of course, Wisconsin is 91% white, so maybe not.

I believe Mr King to have been an honest man.
I doubt he would approve of voter fraud....
