Walt Disney World is getting the word out to its more than 64,000 cast members about changes on Thursday in light of President Barack Obama's visit to Magic Kingdom Park for an economic address.

Disney advises that Main Street, U.S.A., including shops like the Emporium, will be closed to guests from park opening through late afternoon.

Why in the sam hill is he going to Disney World, to give a speech??????
He can give speeches anywhere. What is the significance of Disney World in his political calculation?
Is it really worth it to Disney to put up with all of the disruption caused by a president’s visit?
Or, did things happen behind the scenes, and Disney was told that the president will show up, and that’s the end of the discussion????

Can you imagine ... having a trip planned, probably taken off work, maybe kids out of school, to go to Disney and then THIS happens. I'm sure there is going to be more inconvenience than just Main Street being closed. Obummer's going to lose some popularity if not votes .....

Wow..I feel sorry for the people who paid alot of money to go to Disney then can’t access parts of the park for most of an entire day. Plus the money it will probably cost Disney....... Obama has to bring economic trouble whereever he goes...I wounder if he will try and unionize the workers and Occupy Disney??

I work there and not only can us Cast members not go to MK and use our free passes. MK on Thursday is closed to all but official Obama guests.
Jimmy Fallon says Obama won’t pay to get in. He will charge it to the Chinese section at Epcot.
The article sounded like one can still go to MK and go to the non-Main Street parts.

A bunch of phoney characters milling around, offering to let you take a photo with them...and then there’s the Disney Characters.
The main reason for this trip is for the great photo op to give a speech with Cinderella’s castle as a backdrop. It also shows support for Disney’s unions which just signed a new contract with Disney. Not to mention just how gay friendly Disney is.... Screw everybody else, the common park goers, ground traffic around Orlando, Air traffic over Orlando, must get good photo....
I went to Epcot for the first time in almost 30 years and I as shocked Disney would do that Candlelight Processional show. I was expecting non-religious Rudolph the Raindeer songs. The show was amazing and got to give credit to Disney. I like the big angel on top of the big Christmas tree at Epcot. I wonder if that pissed off any of the Muzzies I saw there, hee hee.
Maybe its the grand opening of Islamaville, honoring all that Radical Islam has brought to America.

On a different note, VP GHW Bush and his escapades almost ruined my trip to the Superbowl about 30 years ago. I empathize with these families that are planning a trip of a lifetime only to have it interrupted by 10 minutes of political dung.
