Mars has had enough of the landing invasion and Rovers and is starting to throw rocks back. They might not even send any more of those candy bars.

We’d be stuck with just O’Henry’s.

That has always reminded me so much of an aluminum device inside the little rooms at the back of a 727.

If Mars rocks fell in Africa in July, does that mean it is time to short Mars rocks? Or does it mean I should have shorted in July? For that matter, what's today's quote on Mars rocks on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange?

I was going to ask how the heck martian rocks can jump up and leave the gravitational pull and head to earth until I read the article and this:

Astronomers think millions of years ago something big smashed into Mars and sent rocks hurtling through the solar system. After a long journey through space, one of those rocks plunged through Earth's atmosphere, splitting into smaller pieces.

And now said rocks just happened to hit earth after their millions of years journey thru space to return and hit earth. And some smart folks decided to pick them up in Africa and offer them for sale...........

The only thing missing from this story is the claim that if worn in the trousers of a male, it will give him an erection lasting up to 8 hours and if such erection fails to go away, contact your local astronomer immediately.

Okay............

Consensus. This would be an example of the now common methodology in science, i.e., everyone agrees to agree on something that is unsupportable with the facts, so that they can move on to the next hypothesis.

We have sent mass spectrometers to the mars surface, and know it's compositional characteristics very well.

The gas trapped inside cavities inside the rock match precisely the sampled atmosphere on Mars. We’ve had landers on Mars since 1976 or so and we’ve got a pretty good idea what it’s made of and the trace elements in the atmosphere.

It would be just awesome to find a couple of those. Sell one of them, and keep the other. I bet you could practically write your own check, assuming that some government wouldn’t be looking to confiscate it from you.

Knowing my luck, I would end up like the old farmer guy that was played by Stephen King in the movie “Creepshow”.

“Meteorite dealer Darryl Pitt, who sold a chunk to Herd, said he charges $11,000 to $22,500 an ounce and has sold most of his supply already. At that price, the new Martian rock costs about 10 times more than gold.”

“It’s scientifically invaluable,” Herd said. “These are really beautiful specimens. It’s a rare type, so fresh and aesthetically pleasing.”

I’d charge a lot more.

Not that different from kissing the Blarney Stone, which has been named the world's most unsanitary tourist attraction.

I’m an old man now, but the very first time I saw a picture of that Mecca mess I wondered what sexually suppressed Islamic decided the proper orifice for holding the black rock was an inverted vulva made of silver. Seems fitting that it resides in Saudi Arabia, where women are treated like royal pimples.
