I have to disagree .. they do protect but the protection is imperfect and highly dependant on how they’re used. When you’re talking about the number of partners those in the “industry” have and the high incidence of herpes and chlymidia combined with the male “performers” often acting in gay and straight roles I’d triple wrap it if I was involved.
