The harrowing pictures show the cruel conditions in which 1,500 of the animals were found when the truck was stopped at a toll gate by highway police and animal rescue volunteers in Chongqing, south-west China. ...

The animals were moved to a nearby farm by volunteers from the Chongqing Animal Protection Association who gave them food, water and emergency treatment. ...

I was not satisfied with the information at the Daily Mail and found more at another web site. It seem while some of the dogs were dead and dying, others were moved to larger temporary cages, given food, water, and emergency treatment.

How about “they are only Chinese” comments.

Years ago when my husband (a rancher) left the sale barn in Sealy Texas(cattle), he walked up on a group of Chinese in the parking lot butchering a calf in the trunk of their car. They had obviously just bought it at the sale barn and were in the process of cutting it up.

No way to know if it was for their own consumption or for their Chinese restaurant.

Either way I think what they were doing was illegal. If they do that in Texas just imagine what they do in China.

This is why I only patronize restaurants that use free-range dogs.

Only illegal if they sell it, if it was for self consumption, no. Remember the story a few months ago about the guy in Utah shooting a steer in a subdivision. LOL.
