Underscoring its desire to keep U.S. aircraft carriers from the Persian Gulf, a senior Iranian military commander today announced his possible plan to ambush the American fleet.
Chalk this one up to more bluster, or part of a mounting back and forth rhetoric headed nowhere good, either way - Tehran plans to rely on its subs.
Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army's Self-Sufficiency Jihad, Rear Admiral Farhad Amiri told Fars that Iran has the finest electic diesel submarines in the world, and that while the U.S. has focused on Tehran's "astonishing surface capabilities," it has forgotten about the underwater threat.
Amiri said he plans to slip his fleet of subs onto the Persian Gulf floor and "fire missiles and torpedoes simultaneously."

And i could hide outside a Hells Angels favorite bar and shoot one from ambush as he walked out. And then brag to the whole town that it was me. (and i’m guessing my life would get -very- exciting after that!)
Well, I for one find that rather irritating. The U.S. Navy has completely forgotten about submarines. I'm going to write my nearest Admiral right away. "Dear Sir. Please remember the submarines. Thanks. BtD" Some people!

If the Iranians kill or damage a carrier, the balloon goes up and the gloves come off. A carrier is a strategic asset.
They should be careful what they wish for.

He has demonstrated that he is capable of this in Libya. 80 percent of those “Nato” aircraft were American. In Libya we threw out an odious and evil murderer that posed NO THREAT TO THE WEST. In Libya we now have odious and evil murders in power (muslim brotherhood) that ARE A THREAT TO THE WEST.
Obama knew this would happen in Libya just as it did in Egypt. There can be only one explanation for this. He hates his own country of which he is President. He wants to harm us.

I was just going to say, I don't think it is easy to sneak up on a Carrier. I am sure our subs would be there too, if that is the game they want to play.
Hey there Rear Admiral Farhad Amiri don’t you remember the famous “awaken a sleeping giant” quote a certain naval officer made 70 years ago? Same thing holds true today. Fire a torpedo and prepare yourself to meet 72 virgins (note that nobody said they’re going to be Playboy knockouts - it could be ugly!).
Right now? Nothing.
But what I fear is that he will wait...probably too long, but then pull a September or October surprise and get us into a war so he can try to use that and the lives of our personnel to hold onto the Presidency.
If he does he will have stooped below imagination and should be impeached...heck, he should be impeached in any case.

Dear God, I pray that Iran torpedoes a US carrier. Because then even Oboingo could not ignore Iran anymore. And it might encourage some GOP nominee to get a pair and say if I’m elected, and Iran attacks us, there will be radioactive glass in Tehran.
Of more concern will be the response by the American public? We have not lost a great ship since WWII.
The media would have a field day; interviewing Iranian officials(treason laws no longer apply; joyful photos depicting American casualties; pictures of the great ship with sailors abandoning it by ropes; the great ship heeling over. An American defeat will cause the media creatures to have multiple orgasms.
Lastly, this administration would attempt to rally a degenerate American public around "The Divine One." They would succeed and crush any Republic possibility of gaining the White House.
