" She dated an abortion doctor. "
So ? why is that Rick's fault ? did Rick Santorum force her to date that doctor ?
How is Laura Bush's ( then, back in 1963 , Laura Welch ) car accident related to George Bush ?

Her behavior has nothing to do with Santorum himself.

" Yeah, some nitwit posted it here the other night trying to stir up muck on Santorum’s family. Just do a search and you will find it. The agitator was guffawed off his own thread. "

Yeah and the Newt supporters and Santorum haters are running with this story with glee, not concern that it has anything to do with Rick himself 30 years later.... just like how the MSM ran with the story with glee not concerned how it had anything to do with George Bush at the time of Laura Welch's car accident with a class mate dying in the accident.. but, you know the MSM illogical mentality... it was Bush's fault anyway, anyhow, just like it's Rick's fault that Karen Santroum dated a abortion doctor...
There was another story here on FR the other day of Rick Perry trying to make it look like Rick Santroum was in the Senate and Santorum voted to confirm Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.

" There's a sewer story out about how she dated an abortion doctor before she met Rick. "

Yeah, the same with the story by the MSM back when George Bush was running for President of Laura Welch and how it was George's fault somehow that she ran a stoplight/sign and a class mate died in the accident.
However ? some Newt supporters are still running with this story about Rick's wife with glee with the hope some how illogical that it will effect Rick..

can't tell them a thing... they have blinders on.

He's building a considerable list of new federal agencies and commissions but he's still the small government outsider as long as we don't talk about it.

" Romney is sucking up to Santorum hoping he will help him attack Newt tonight! "

Remember ? back in 2000, Gore called George Bush to concede, and John what's his name... John Kerry called to concede... it's standard consideration.

Sorry about that......

Just getting frustrated by some who would even take a non-story that has nothing to do with Rick Santorum himself and make something out of it like they did with George Bush.

This is true regarding her life prior to being with him, but these people are taking issue with things he said 2 years prior to running for office as well. More vetting will be needed for this story. It may be a non starter, it may be patently false. You asked if anyone heard anything, and I had just done an internet search regarding this and that is what I found so far.

Also, the wives do matter in our society. They can endear a candidate to the people or repulse the people. I don’t agree with the premise, but it does exist.

I have not derided any candidate on this forum, nor have I ruled any one out, I am not invested in any one person, only in making the best use of my vote for the good of the country. I am not anybody’s “bot” or “tard” in this election, so I have no axe to grind on any one candidate., though my favorite candidate is out, and Mitt is not an option for me. I want what is best for our nation, so I have been trying to watch the goings on, without political slant, and doing my best through the mudslinging to make an informed choice (not an easy feat to say the least LOL) as a voter in the first state with a closed primary.

Today was the first I saw anything regarding this story, and, with the field narrowing, I feel it is important to see if this story, whether it has anything to do with his behavior or not, is going to affect his ability to win and not have it knock him out in the general when the democrats spend upwards of a billion dollars on negative ads through superpacs in the heart of evangelical country.

Passion for a candidate is important, passion for America is paramount. My vote is going to the candidate who will absolutely have the best chance of doing the most good for America, and I must say, I feel the weight of this decision heavily resting on my shoulders, as do so many of us. I am so glad the weight has forced me to my knees. Never before have I so deeply been aware of God, Country, Family, Self as I am this election cycle- and I have been married to an eagle scout for over 20 years. God be with you during your decision making, and God bless you for being aware, awake and engaged.

"It will be interesting to see if Santorum attacks Mitt in tonight’s debate."

I'm sure he's working over a silly little gotcha trap right now, crafted just for Newt.

Romney should have thought of that before he gave his victory speech. He knew the final vote was unsettled but gave a victory lap anyway!

In hindsight, this won’t matter either because it’s water under the bridge.... yes, it ( MIGHT ) give Santorum a small bounce, but time is moving forward.
