Rush Limbaugh: Time to ‘focus on’ personal lives of journalists [VIDEO]
The Daily Caller ^ | 1/19/12 | Jeff Poor

The hoopla surrounding the ABC News interview with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s second ex-wife, Marianne Gingrich, has raised a question for conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh: How come journalists aren’t held to the same standard they hold those they investigate to?

On his Thursday show, Limbaugh asked that question and said that it was appropriate to do so since the media is no longer just reporting, but passing judgment as well.

“That’s another thing, this always gets me — are journalists monogamous?” Limbaugh asked. “Are journalists faithful? Are they as clean and pure as the wind-driven snow? This is what has always fascinated me. These people — the sportswriter guys, the news media guys — they all get to sit in judgment as though they live perfect lives. And then when you try to turn the focus on them, ‘Oh no, no, no, no, no. I’m just a reporter. It doesn’t matter.’ It certainly does because you’re not reporting. You’re passing judgment.” (RELATED: Limbaugh proposes $50k bounty for proof of sexual harassment by Politico employees [VIDEO])

Rush misses the point: Journalists don’t care about the morals of any candidate, but they think they can peel away enough votes from people who do.

This is something that needed to happen LONG AGO, IMHO.

I know people who tried to make it in media, only to find they walked in to a HOSTILE, QUEER WORKPLACE, where gay sexual harassment was not only ignored, but encouraged by the management.

And you don’t DARE to say that in public, or your future will be DESTROYED by the Gay Media Mafia.

I didn’t catch Rush today. BUT, while he advances the obvious, in the need for inspection of journalists alliances and dalliances, he gave seemingly a tepid response to the break out of Newt Gingrich, in the race against Romney. Instead he projects Santorum? Rush said it looks like Santorum and Romney are the last two standing? Is that true? What a diversion off and onto a rabbit trail.

The earth is moving that Romney has been shelled and Rush is air balling over Santorum and stoking the negative fallout for Newt. Not happy here. %:<

Journalists have no ethics because they are all liberal. Their main objective is to get Obama re-elected no matter the cost. If they were objective and fair they would have gotten hold of Obama’s college transcripts, thesis, and video of him toasting Rashid Khalidi from the LA Times a long time ago..Obama has so many skeletons in his closet it would take a few closets to fill.

"Hi! I'm Katie Couic. When I was a new reporter, I had a steamy affair with a married, considerably older CNN exec. Soon we were the talk of the newsroom - and were even spotted "making out."

My sugar daddy saved me from getting fired several times, but I ditched the old fart when I accepted a job at an NBC affiliate in Miami in the mid-1980's, but not before I caused his marriage to end.

Once in Miami I quickly lined up another high-profile lover, a 12-years-older, married, dad-of-two who was a media spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, resulting in yet another divorce!

His position put him in the know and made him a source par excellence for an ambitious young journalist like me, though, so ruining those kids' lives was worth it!

We dated until Katie left Miami for Washington D.C. and took a job at anther NBC affiliate, where I took yet another lover!

Thank you, yes. It is PAST time to examine these corrupt fools. If you run for national political office and are a Republican your entire life is fair game. When you complain about it the journalists say, “but you are a public figure running for office. You will have power over people’s lives.” Jounralists exercise just as much, if not more, power over people’s lives. They form public opinion by selecting what to report, how to report it and what not to report.

They are NOT just passive observers but active participants in our political process. It is time they receive the same damn treatment they meter out to everyone else. Let’s find out about Mr. Ross’ children, his wife or wives. Does he live in a mansion, have off shore accounts? Does he have too many parking or speeding tickets. Have there been any sexual harassment complaints filed against him? Does he have a history of drug or alchohal abuse? Does he still beat his wife?

I need to know this information about the people weilding power over us.

I agree with Rush. We should know more about the sanctimonious propagandists of the MSM. Not sure who might do it of fund it, but it would be totally justified to vet the news readers as thoroughly as candidates for high office.

Since an objective journalist is almost unheard of, it’s good to know about the posers’ backgrounds and any political activities.

What, just because Shep Smith and Anderson Cooper were named "most powerful" queers in the news media by The Advocate (a gay mag)?

BTW, Shep's been losing weight madly. AIDS will do that.

I agree 100% with Rush. It’s about time sick perverts with their own secrets like Matt Drudge STFU about private matters that are none of their business. These allegations against Newt are decades old. I think Drudge has a lot more to hide than Newt who has been quite open about his past mistakes.

ABC News was exposed last year as a hostile work environment and a den of sexual harassment.

The 241 insider testimonials have all since been scrubbed from the original story's website, but some of the comments have been captured at this post in the FR thread.

ABC News is the LAST place with any credibility to discuss someone else's marriage.

I wonder what they were doing with the audio in the Rush clip. It sounded like they were adding some wierd noise to it. Made it sound like Rush was scratching himself on his official broadcaster chair while he was talking.

Rush misses the point: Journalists don’t care about the morals of any candidate, but they think they can peel away enough votes from people who do.

He's not missing the point at all. He is describing a way to undermine the credibity of said reporters. He doesn't care about what they think. He cares about what the public at largwe thinks of them. Big difference.

Actually, Rush doesn’t miss the point at all. He simply wants to highlight their hypocrisy so no one listens to them.

Dh and I noticed Shep’s loss of weight, and wondered if her was “ill” with the “slims”, as it is called in Africa.
