Alleged Bachmann Statement: NO to Gingrich
National Review Online ^

Posted on 01/19/2012 2:00:39 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

For me, these past weeks have been filled with much prayer and personal reflection – which has provided some clarity. Ultimately, I recognize that endorsing a candidate is the responsible thing to do.

But it is far more responsible to ensure that candidate is one I can support with a strong conviction knowing, without any doubt, that they protect our values and have the ability to restore our nation’s greatness. With some doubt still present, I am not yet prepared to offer my endorsement, but look forward to doing so in the coming weeks.

However, through this exhaustive process of consideration, it was strikingly obvious that one candidate could not be less acceptable to be our Party’s nominee. He lacks the poise, experience and moral fiber to represent our principles and values. That candidate is Newt Gingrich.

In sum, our nation is in desperate need of a proven and moral leader who can point us back in the right direction – not a desperately flawed candidate like Newt Gingrich who has only proven he cannot lead.

Here’s an image of the press release. Earlier today, however, Bachmann’s press secretary, Alice Stewart, released the following statement:

The Bachmann for President campaign has not issued an official statement regarding an endorsement of any current candidate in the GOP race ahead of the South Carolina primary. Any information found to the contrary is inaccurate.

Still running interference for Mitt.

That was my first reaction. Not to mention how far she's fallen out of touch with the Tea Party...

This sounds like a typical last-minute fact-free dirty tricks operation done by the most unscrupulous political operatives. This is exactly the kind of thing unleashed by the more “respectable” political players in the final days of a close campaign, but done “under the table” so that there can be (im)plausible denyability.

Newt can’t lead? Just who was in the vanguard of the Republican Revolution? Whatever Newt’s flaws, lack of leadership is not amongst them!

Photoshop? Hmmm...

It doesn’t have to be true. It only has to have an odor of truth for a small amount of time to make the necessary impact on the sheeple.

Dick Army had a lot to do with that as the majority leader. I will be very interested in what Dick Army has to say about Newt.

That’s true, but Newt was right in front, he certainly took the heat for it. I think he is a flawed man, but he is also what this nation needs right now in view of any of the alternatives. Churchill liked his whiskey but lead his nation to victory. Not that Newt’s Churchillian, but these days, who is?

Newt can’t win (women will not vote for him) and even if he did, he wouldn’t govern as a conservative, so what’s the point.

Nominating New means Obama gets more Supreme Court Justices and the nation is finished off between him and the liberal Court.

No thanks.

Well with Newt you just never know what you are going to get. Every day is a new day to Newt and he has 50 new ideas floating in his head. But with Obama you know what you are going to get and it ain’t good. So I’d rather take a chance with Newt then to go to hell with Obama. The choice is like a bullet in the head or jumping off a cliff. I’ll take the cliff, it will be an “fun” ride down and there is a tiny chance I’d live thru it. The bullet is instant death.

"a desperately flawed candidate like Newt Gingrich"

Look folks, can we be honest here.
This is at best allegedly pious liturgical blather paramount to a profound and fundamental disillusionment from a vicariously alienated, increasingly arrogant individual lacking any substantive, transformational value.
Are we to take this serious?

…or sumpin' like that.
Somehow I think Newton will weather it.

Here the hypocrite lavishes praise all over Newt Gingrich.
What a backstabbing lowlife delusional creep.

Ultimately, I recognize that endorsing a candidate is the responsible thing to do.

So announcing that you are not endorsing a candidate is Irresponsible.

THIS AIN’T REAL!!

Or at least I seriously doubt it, considering past statements she’s made, like the ones Newt is using in his ads.

————Michele Bachmann’s spokeswoman told GreenvilleOnline.com this afternoon that a statement widely distributed to voters in South Carolina in which Bachmann is quoted ripping Newt Gingrich did not come from the campaign, even though she said it appeared to be official.
“I can say with 100 percent complete certainty our campaign had nothing to do with that email,” Stewart said. The false statement said Bachmann would not be endorsing Gingrich.-———

THe headline says “alleged”, so I presume there’s some question as to authenticity.

But I certainly felt as you did when Herman Cain said he could never accept Rick Perry, even though he said Romney was OK.
