John King started the night with a question about Newt’s ex-wife’s interview in which she alleged Newt sought an “open marriage.” Newt answered the question eventually with a denial, but used the oppoturnity to give King a smackdown which will be remembered for a long time.
That was sheer amazing... shows what can happen when a candidate can think on his feet (along with pre-think time and prep).
That was NOT a touchdown, it was 10 consecutive years of Superbowl Clobbering wins.
That was a quadrupal Lutz.
That was not a home run, it was a three balls two strikes two outs Grand Slam out-of-the-park walk off 9th inning 7th game World Series BLAST.
That was Awesome to watch! I was hooting during the whole dressing down.

The race is going to come down to Newt and Romney. I’ll take a man with character flaws over a fraud every time.
The question itself was not out of line. Making it the very first question, something that might set the tone for the whole debate, was. This was a debate of presidential candidates. The first question should be something that is relevant to everybody inside and outside the debate room, e.g., the economy, national defense, and so on. Not what an ex-wife said about her marriage.
I am so happy to finally see a Republican with a spine take it to one of these liberal jackasses.
Obama just called his people to send more money to Romney’s campaign because he don’t want to mess with Newt. I think I just heard Obama’s rectum pucker.

I don’t think most people are pretending otherwise. I think most people recognize that he has the guts and the political savvy to be able to change the narrative in the political arena and put the left and the media on the defense. This is crucial and a very long in coming. Reagan was able to do it, which is why the left hated him so much. This is war, literally war for the heart and soul, and possibly the survival of our country. I am very much warming to Newt, because irrespective of his private life he is speaking the truth in the public arena.
We live in a society in which multiple former governors are in or were in prison, another recent governor was just found to have fathered a child with his housekeeper, a siting President had oral sex with an intern in the White House, a Vice-Presendential candidate who almost got elected is now awaiting trial for funneling campaign funds to hide his mistress and their child, and so on and so on. That’s not to mention all the horrible things that are happening in sports and the entertainment industry.
All of that doesn’t excuse Newt, but irrespective of whether one is a Christian, has other beliefs, or is an agnostic or atheist, each of us has to decide whether a person can change and whether or not we can forgive them. I’m taking him at his word, and I’m choosing to not judge. I hope people will afford me the same.
