“”Hu’s on first.”

Hu’s asleep on my shoulders! I have two girl catz, one named Hu, the other named Mao, “Hu” means tiger. “Mao” means the animal that makes the “mao”(meow) sound. Chinese ladyfriend.

Hu’s on First

By James Sherman
(We take you now to the Oval Office.)

George: Condi! Nice to see you. What’s happening?

Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That’s what I want to know.

Condi: That’s what I’m telling you.

George: That’s what I’m asking you. Who is the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes.

George: I mean the fellow’s name.

Condi: Hu.

George: The guy in China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The new leader of China.

Condi: Hu.

George: The Chinaman!

Condi: Hu is leading China.

George: Now whaddya’ asking me for?

Condi: I’m telling you Hu is leading China.

George: Well, I’m asking you. Who is leading China?

Condi: That’s the man’s name.

George: That’s who’s name?

Condi: Yes.

George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of
China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the
Middle East.

Condi: That’s correct.

George: Then who is in China?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir is in China?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Then who is?

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Yassir?

Condi: No, sir.

George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.

Condi: Kofi?

George: No, thanks.

Condi: You want Kofi?

George: No.

Condi: You don’t want Kofi.

George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi?

George: Milk! Will you please make the call?

Condi: And call who?

George: Who is the guy at the U.N?

Condi: Hu is the guy in China.

George: Will you stay out of China?!

Condi: Yes, sir.

George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.

Condi: Kofi.

George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.

(Condi picks up the phone.)

Condi: Rice, here.

George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we
should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you
get Chinese food in the Middle East?

Been following the Tribe since the late ‘60s, but have never been so cynical as I have been the past two seasons. Trading away Cy Young winners in consecutive seasons and not getting a single bonafide major league player in return (just a bunch of “prospects”) really upset me.

Is it just me, or is FR really slow lately?

Why? One doesn’t use a false identity for no reason. Probably got a record, or is wanted.

No. He did it to lower his age. Prospects and players are evaluated on age. The club charts players and how they are supposed to move through the system. A 22 year old in rookie ball is viewed much differently than a 19 year old in rookie ball.

So his rookie year was 2006, when he was supposedly 22, but was actually 25. He went 1-10, but he was thought to have really good stuff, so the Indians kept working with him and brought him back for the next year. They did that because they thought he was 22. If a pitcher is 25 and goes 1-10, he gets sent down, or, more likely, released.

They both had expiring contracts. You think that a team is going to give up the farm--literally--to get a pitcher with an expiring contract?

The Jimenez deal with a head scratcher. CC and Lee made sense.

I meant that it WAS a head scratcher. I didn't understand that one at all. And the Indians should have known something was going on when Colorado was trying to deal a "good" pitcher who was controllable and not even arbitration eligible for 2 more seasons. Red flags all over the place.

Lee still had 1 1/2 years left on his deal. I understood why both he and CC were traded, but not getting a single quality player in return is mind-boggling. Poor scouting by the Indians.
