Iranian media reported on Saturday that a 43-year-old Iranian military officer was killed and another soldier was wounded in a shooting incident that occurred early on Saturday morning in the western Iran city of Khorramabad.

According to the report, which was brought by Israel’s Channel 2 News on Saturday night, the incident occurred when two motorcyclists fired shots at a group of soldiers who were on their way to an air force base located near the city. The soldier who was wounded in the incident, said the report, suffered injuries to his leg and neck.

A senior official in the Lorestan province, where the city is located, confirmed the incident took place and added that Iranian officials have launched an investigation.

“We will notify regarding details about the progress of the investigation,” the official was quoted as having said.

The official said that the two bikers were able to flee the scene, adding that eyewitnesses said that “many bullets were fired at the soldiers, causing great panic in the area.”

Iran blames Israel. Probably Kurd, Balukhi, or students getting serious in new course of study. Either way, if Israel isn't giving them support, it ought to.

Gee, maybe the Iranian people don’t want to be incinerated over Ahmanutjob’s hallucinations. Who knew?

Might cause a virgin shortage. Who wants to die if all they get are 71 or 70.5 virgins, or have to settle for technical virgins?

Maybe the Koran has loopholes. Shame they don’t have good Jewish lawyers to find them.

They could encourage more dead people to go for the ‘boys like pearls,’ thereby freeing up more virgins. Perhaps some sort of a...well, no not tax incentive—if there are taxes in the hereafter, why bother? More fresh spring of water, maybe?

I was serving in Tehran when the insurgency started that brought about the 1979 revolution. The reality is the people wanted a western style democratic (not to be confused with Democrats) republic and that was the tact that Jimmuh and the Mullahs used to stir the people.

They were sold short and they were just one Presidential announcement of support away from taking their country back from the liars and despots (Jimmuh included) who sold them down the river because the Shah would not play footsie. Obama failed them and the green revolution was squashed.

This type of attack was typical of the terrorists of the time and my take is the Persians took time to regroup to formulate a campaign of one drip at a time to bring down the Mullahs. They are biding their time to react when it is clear a new administration has been elected and are banking on it to be supportive of their cause. I have no doubt that if Newt is elected, the final solution for the Mulllahs will be at hand.

Nice to hear from someone who was there. Your reporting of it is the same as what my understanding of the situation was exactly. I have good friends who left Iran long before the Shah fell and they were always so appalled at what had happened to their homeland.
