The controversial Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas is at it again. Now, the church said it will picket the funeral of the legendary Joe Pa -- longtime Penn State football coach Joe Paterno who died on Sunday morning.
Joe Paterno died on Sunday. The controversial Westboro Baptist Church tweet Sunday after the news that it planned to picket Paterno's funeral.
Margie Phelps, wife of Westboro Baptist Church leader Fred Phelps, sent out several tweets on Sunday after news of Paterno's death spread. The church, known for its controversial positions, suggested Paterno is going to hell.
"Joe Paterno is dead. WBC will picket his funeral. He's in hell. Don't partake of your neighbor's sin," read one tweet from "MargieJPhelps," a Twitter user.
"No RIP Joe Paterno. No peace in hell!" read another.
"Stop pimping out your kids to raping coaches. WBC must picket Paterno funeral," read yet another.
No arrangements for Paterno's funeral have been announced as of Sunday afternoon.

It’s difficult to believe Paterno was insulated from all the smell that was coming from below.
Like the guy who got caught with what, 100,000 kiddie porn photos on his computer, and he tells the judge no, he doesn’t get horny on this kind of stuff. Well I guess there would be a way to prove that (they do it before letting past pederasts go from civil commitment, which is seldom that it happens) but it seems obvious he didn’t try. The judge said balderdash. The same about Paterno.

Without question it is absolutely disgusting that Joe Paterno would not call legal authorities when he was told that Sandusky was raping children in the PSU Football team’s showers.
Is the Westboro Baptist Church a member of a group of Baptist Churches or is it a single church organization under the leadership of Fred Phelps?
I’m not defending Paterno. I am saying that I abhor the WBC and everything they stand for (which is lining their pockets). They are nothing but scam artists and media whores. When they threatened to protest the deaths of 7 innocent children in a house fire here in PA, I stood against them. Nothing they do is for a good reason, ever, even if every once and a while you might find the person they are protesting against somehow deserving, they still vile and contemptible. By giving them any credit for doing the “right” thing you are giving them credit for also protesting the deaths of innocent children and of our troops killed in action. Never give these vile people even an inch. You can call Paterno out for what he did or didn’t do but don’t give these people even an inch of credit. They have no morals.
That may be but there are some Penn State football players and former football players that might take exception.

It is a stand alone, one of a kind thing that isn't even what any evangelical or ecumenical group would call Christian, with a pretense to being Old Testament style prophets (but not non-profit prophets). Christian Baptists take the name of Baptists for their denominations because they hold that believers in Christ, rather than infants too young to be able to believe, should be ritually baptized. I don't even know what these Westburro jokers think they are baptized in... bull merde?
Kinda strange that they aren’t protesting the actual child molester himself.
Guess that one hits a little close to home for Phelps.

Paterno knew of at least one rape and failed to call the police.
He deserves to be remembered as a child rapist enabled as that’s precisely what he was.
