EASTERN ARKANSAS THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI WESTERN TENNESSEE
A monster black cloudmass ran over us in Austin on its way to you this noon. It was hauling ass. Black clouds don’t typically haul ass.
Git underground. GO!
Yep....I think the weather radio will be in use tonight.
You can see the little red dot heading due east into TN.
Yeah...They are exploding.
This early in the season you have to wonder how many residents in the area are paying attention?
First Tornado Warnings issued...!
My daughter and granddaughter visiting relatives in AR right now.
Yeah, God bless tonight hopefully by the time they move into your area they will have lost some punch!
Prayers sent up for all in the path of this storm.
Hopefully in the western part?
annoying acronym and capital letters alert!
That lower couplet east of Arkadephia is sure one to watch!
Yeah sorry....I don’t know the code to reduce it.
But PDS is a well known acronym in the area and carries a lot of weight as far as knowing the seriousness of the matter.
Prayers for all my freeper buddies from that area. Stay safe and good thoughts coming your way.
TRUST me....we are paying attention.
Great...Good Luck and God Bless you and yours!
Thanks! Awesome radar as well!
For two years it’s frightful to watch tornadic storms build over Texas and wreak havoc over the more Eastern states. It’s usually Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas get the storms at 4pm so everybody west has warning but now we can only warn y’all since we don’t get them anymore, y’all do, and AT NIGHT.
Prayers and get those weather radios.
Hope you are out of harm’s way Nana.
It will be on me in about 30 minutes. Giving the dog her “chill pill” as we speak. She goes crazy during thunderstorms.
Thank you....am planning to stay up....to be able to wake hubby up if need be ...to go downstairs. ;-)
Appreciate the prayers. They WORK!
I'm not trying to make light of it, but we have a really good warning system here and it's early enough that the word will get out via TV, radio, weather radio, word of mouth and neighbors helping neighbors...should be fine...material damages suck but lives are the important thing here..
I'm glued to the coverage, and I see potential but no hook echo anywhere.
We err on the side of caution for early warnings in AR.
Crap. I hate being by myself when this happens. They just increased the torcon for Memphis to 8. Looks like I’ll be sitting up reading on the couch all night. They’ve got Mike Seidel reporting now a few blocks away from me. Stay alert and safe... everyone in its path tonight.
Late night/early morning is the WORST time!
We purchased an excellent weather radio (hat tip to Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit) on sale a year or so ago. It only alerts us to what is in our area...instead of half the world around us. Lol...
Severe weather ping.
Pay attention all the way up into Indiana and Illinois. The tornado threat is limited up this way, but there will be some phenomenal winds. With the saturated ground and the snow melt on top of that, we could see a lot of trees tumble in the area tonight. Plus, after a overnight high around 50 in Indy (higher south, lower north), the temps will go down to low 20s tomorrow night, freezing any standing water.
Still, it’s better than 3” of sleet.
Well we are all with the if that matters!
Kids are in Brinkley and Little Rock.
Be safe Freepers...I can’t believe how fast the temp went from really frigid to just freezing today...
Thank you, win...and thank you for the thread and alerts...I’ll get my weather radio out. I wouldn’t be such a ‘fraidy-cat being by myself if I could just SHOOT an intruding tornado. :-/
NWS Radio just went off here in SW Indiana. Bad MOJO headed our way!
Good luck, M.K. Borders!
I know how you feel. A couple years ago we moved to a more tornado-riddled area of IL and when we purchased the house I didn’t even think about that issue. I know, pretty dumb. Anyways, in these two years there have been so many siren warnings and one happened to get me out of bed and being alone in the house, with nowhere to go but the bathtub or closet and I was frantic.
Based on the weather pics should be fine. just a little longer and it'll be through that area,
Get under cover folks and stay folks& FRiends down south. This Yankee’s praying for you all.

No pun intended, but your saying their almost out of the woods?
I read this thread about 8 PM and put the radio on then
nothing mentioned for us yet
I think it will be in the Memphis area
300+ miles to our west
the other side of the state..
For those of you in its’ path, stay safe!
Holy crap! Hit the deck!
You poor thing...you really ARE like at the mercy of it all. It’s a sinking feeling. My house is all larger windows and many sets of french doors/transoms—upper and lower. And all rooms are exterior except for one...a small closet on the first floor...that’s only about three feet in from the exterior. Nowhere to run! I’ve thought that I’d just jump in there and put on layers of coats and hats and my ski mask and goggles and gloves...and burrow in all the crap on the floor. It won’t be a pretty thing. So now you know what to tell the rescuers what kind of creature to look for if they need to go through the rubble. LOL.
I think we’re on the edge of it tonight. We’re in Rocket City USA (Huntsville AL). It was really stormy yesterday a.m. about 5:30 . . . same stuff that was heading to SC. We were under a tornado watch then and didn’t know it. Sounded pretty rough out there. We need one of those improved weather radios that doesn’t sound for everything within 300 miles of here.
