Rick Santorum turns heat on Newt Gingrich in Florida (pout alert)

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.— Rick Santorum kicked off his Florida campaign here Sunday by aiming directly at Newt Gingrich. “It’s great to be glib, but it’s better to be principled,” the former Pennsylvania senator told a crowd of more than 200 standing in a hot parking lot of a strip mall in this town outside Fort Lauderdale.

Santorum dismissed the idea that the South Carolina primary reshaped the race into a Gingrich-Mitt Romney face-off. Saturday’s results could very quickly be overshadowed by the Jan. 31 Florida primary, in which he’s hoping to reemerge as a factor. “You have three candidates who can be president. That wasn’t the case moving into South Carolina,” he added, referencing Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry’s withdrawal from the race. “Florida can now step back and say, ‘Okay…who is the candidate that we here in South Florida should put our seal of approval on?

They all kited checks.

In 1992, many House members were suspected of bouncing checks from accounts they held at the so-called "House Bank" -- a loose operation that allowed member of Congress to cash their checks but kept shoddy records and often were quite delayed in recording deposits or withdrawals.

Although the lawmakers had broken no laws and many did not even know they were bouncing checks, several took advantage of the bank system and many voters viewed the scandal as a blatant abuse of power.

Reagan would disagree with you.

Romney denounced Reagan and gave money to Democrats. Romney never had a face to face meeting with Reagan.

Newt, on the other hand... First met Ronald Reagan in the 1970’s and has always been a Reaganite. Romney is a MESS of a candidate and when Santorum attacks Reagonite Newt over Romney he shows himself as an egotistical MORON.

Those who have what it takes to lead, demonstrate that leadership, and stick to comparing their records and their results. Those who have little results and less leadership ability try to make them selves look better by tearing others down. It always reflects poorly on them.

My goodness! I could’nt have said it better myself.

GO NEWT! GO NEWT! GO NEWT! WOO-HOO!

I have yet to determine if Newt is above or below that 80%, but many of his supporters are certainly falling short.

Look, you can trash Newt to your heart’s content somewhere else, but I’ve asked you politely a couple two or three times now to not trash him on FR. And I sincerely hope that you do not continue doing so beyond this point.

Thanks!

Maybe you should take your argument up w/ Jim Robinson instead of sinking into the depths of nazi symbolism

Was Newt a Reaganite when he declared that the era of Reagan is over?

First, I didn’t call Newt a RINO (even though his record on the subject is in dispute).

You wrote...

'Cheer when a fellow conservative is out of the race, and show your true colors....then only weak RINOs remain.

You were calling Santuram a Conservative and Newt a weak RINO.

Newt is a Conservative. Not a RINO like Romney. Santuram has a short shelf life and the more he bashes Conservative Reagan Newt Gingrich, the more we will shun him.

Um, yes he was a Reaganite. Newt did’nt change. The Republican party changed. The Rino’s thumbed their nose at both Reagan and We the People.

Was Newt lying back in December????

[Newt Says Romney a Possible VP Pick

“I think the consensus is that he’d certainly be on the list, whether he’d want to or not,” Gingrich said. “He’s a very competent person. This is a very serious man. I would certainly support him if he became the Republican nominee.”

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katehicks/2011/12/07/love_thy_enemy_newt_says_romney_a_possible_vp_pick]

Newt was following Reagan's rule. He is not attacking Romney personally, he is pointing out his record. He has not taken back what he said then. In fact, since Romney is so organized, it might be a helpful partnership.

Rick on the other-hand, after praising the Speaker, has gone on to a very personal attack on the Speaker, more than once. His antics make him appear that he is trying to tear down the Speaker, because he is lacking in his own accomplishments.

He would do better to explain his own accomplishments and why they are better than Romney's or Obama’s, or Newt's.

I am not one of those calling for Rick to drop out. I want him there in case the LSM GOP E are successful in taking out Newt. Though if Newt can't survive, I doubt that Rick can, unless he can learn to do a lot more than make personal attacks on his competitors, especially when he has also called them friends.

Why, when I already know what you will accept?

Here are the rules, and please don't shoot the messenger!

Don't say anything good about Romney
Don't say anything good about Paul
Don't say anything bad about Newt.

Fairly simple rules and management will enforce them. Hope that helps.

You lose. Why? Because you are on a Pro-Newt Gingrich website.

We support and want Newt Gingrich to be the next President of the United States. We are Anti-Romney 24/7. And if Rick S bashing of Newt gives Romney some indirect support, we are going to fight against it. Why? We want NEWT to win .... Period. Not Santorum and not Romney. FreeRepublic.com is Anti-Romney.

It's as simple as that. If Rick Santorum continues to lack wisdom and prefers to bash Gingrich, then Santorum will be bashed on Free Republic.

Why? We don't want Santorum to win the nomination. We don't want Romney to win the nomination.

WE WANT NEWT TO WIN BOTH THE NOMINATION AND The ELECTION.

Nothing personal against Santorum, he seems like a decent guy. But do not want him for President and do not want him bashing NEWT.
