RNC calls for ‘united Israel governed under one law for all people’

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- The Republican National Committee adopted a resolution calling for "a united Israel governed under one law for all people."

The resolution passed last week at an RNC conference in New Orleans. Some liberal bloggers suggested that the resolution effectively called for a single state in Israel and the West Bank, with citizenship rights extended to all.

With a preamble that describes the land of Israel as God-given to the Jews, the resolution resolves "that the members of this body support Israel in their natural and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon their own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others; and that peace can be afforded the region only through a united Israel governed under one law for all people."

RNC Calls for ‘United Israel Governed Under One Law For All People’

Yes, I do honsetly think this headline should be flagged in Red.  It's a massive trap for Israel.  It would lead to the end of Israel in short order.

A United Israel would be made up of the following.

7,836,000 Population of Israel @ the end of 2011.  LINK  (5,901,000 or 75.3% Jewish ancestry, and 1,610,000 or 20.6% Arab ancestry)

2,568,555 Population on the West Bank in mid 2010.  LINK  (436,654 or 17% Jewish Ancestry, and 2,131,901 or 83% Arab and other ancestry)

1,657,155 Population on the Gaza Strip July 2011 estimate.  LINK  (Arab ancestry at almost 100%)

0,451,474 Population made up of Israeli settlers on the West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem as of July 2006.  LINK

What Israel would wind up with is this...

6,789,128  Jewish populate in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and the settlements & Eastern Jerusalem.
5,399,056  Arab populace in Israel, the West Bank & Gaza.

Here you have an area made up of Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and Eastern Jerusalem.

The Jewish populace accounts for 55.7% of this population.
The Arab populace accounts for 44.3% of this population.

That looks like an 11.4% spread.  What it really is, is about a 5.7% spread, plus one vote.

It would be almost impossible for Israel to develop and implement policies that were in the best interest of it's survival, based on this alone.

Then you take into consideration the existence of a Leftist movement in Israel.  Even if they only make up 3 to 6% of the Jewish populace, it could very easily be enough to swing all votes in the Arab's favor.

This eventuality would be a recipe for the absolute disolution of Israel over ten to twenty years, perhaps a lot less.

When thinking of the dynamics that would surely follow a unification, you have to realize that free flow of people into what is now Isreal, would be a major demand by the international community.  In short order Israel would be subject to the classic terrorism that they have always been subject to, when they couldn't easily defend against it.

Within short order, it would very clear why a two state solution was initiated in 1947.

Israeli school children, buses, shops, movie theatres, restaurants, and public buildings would be prime targets of those who hated Israel.

In conclusion, this IS a one state solution.  It's a one state that would not include Jews in short order.  Game, set, match, Arabs.

You've got to wonder where this idea came from.  Yasser Arafat must be alive and well somewhere sending this stuff in by eMail.

I detest these so-called “resolutions”. They’re a 5th grade feel-good (if you’re an idiot) stunt and it’s embarrassing to see this crap in the Congress.

Ok DoughtyOne, You have a handle on the better than I did.

:) Israel should make up it’s own mind how it wants it own country run.

Since the RNC DID say they are a country.

Israel has always been closer to this than any Arab or Muslim country. The RNC should put the emphasis where it's truly needed.

Not trying to one-up you at all.

On important topics like this, I’ll read down five to ten replies and offer up my own.

Israel is a tiny little nation with world class problems, and “friends” who seem to think playing into the hands of it’s enemies is something they need to do from time to time.

I’m not including you in that group.

Take care.

WHEREAS, along with the grant of said lands to the Jewish people, God provided for the non-Jewish residents of the land in commanding that governance must be in one law for all without drawing distinction between Jewish and non-Jewish citizens, as contained in Leviticus 24:22, and

Meaning that the "stranger" who took up residence in Israel had to follow all the laws of Israel such as circumcision, keeping the Sabbath day holy, keeping feast days, and not worshiping any other God or blaspheming the LORD God under penalty of death.

It did not mean that strangers could take up residence in Israel and worship and behave as they wished with all the protection of Israel. No, the stranger was expected to comply with the laws of Israel, social as well as religious.
