Skip to comments.Mitch McConnell on verge of chance to be Senate majority leader (No Thanks, we'll pick someone else)

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell operates with a steely resolve, a political discipline that leaves nothing to chance.
A childhood bout with polio instilled in him an enormous capacity for patience. And for 25 years in Congress, the Kentucky Republican has waited for the moment now before him: the chance to become Senate majority leader.
With four seats needed to flip the chamber, or three if a Republican is elected president (because the vice president could break a tie), the GOP has its best opportunity in years to gain full control of Congress.
But McConnell and his party must first overcome the unfinished business weighing them down an extension of a payroll tax break that is the White House's top legislative priority.

We could also end up with someone much worse!
Jim DeMint. Paging Senator Jim DeMint. Please pick up the white courtesy phone in the lobby for an urgent message!
Both Boner and Lockjaw need to go.
Mitch McConnel is the problem that has infected America and should resign in disgrace before he is removed.
Jim DeMint for Majority Leader!
Can't stop laughing right there!
McConnell,Frist, Lott--one of the reasons Conservatives have had it with the GOP establishment.
Having McConnell and Boehner as the opposition makes Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett, Reid and Pelosi go to bed happy at night.
Heck NO! I would like nothing more than to see McConnell go home - for good!
But, but, IT’S HIS TURN! < / RINO off >
We could end up with someone much better too.
You buy’s your ticket, you takes your chance’s.
There must be someone in the Senate who isn’t waiting his turn—that is better than McConnell.
Sometimes those who wait their turn are not the best we can find for the job.
He's the kind of 'leader' who keeps feeding the crocodiles hoping he'll be the last one eaten
And for 25 years in Congress, the Kentucky Republican has waited for the moment now before him:
Right there is why he should NOT be the Majority Leader.
This is not a union. The job should go to the most qualified. Not the next in line, not someone just because of seniority.
I think having Rubio, Sessions, Demint or someone like them would make them shiver in their boots.
Jim DeMint first choice. Maybe Jeff Sessions second choice or Richard Shelby.
Jeff Sessions would be my pick, I think.
When McConnell speaks, eyes glaze over.
Get DeMint. Isn’t this a secret caucus vote anyway?
This is not a stand in line and wait your turn.
If the Tea party helps again defeat dems will they be given a seat at the adult table this time?
Or will Juan Boehner and Mitch be kept to keep the gravey train coming???
