AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

What stunts is Rand Paul pulling?

I've always had the hunch that he's a closet Libertarian like his father....is he coming out of the closet now?

I had to shut off Glenn Beck. He’s been absolutely apoplectic over Newt.

As for Coulter, I don’t know what to make of her, either. Is it possible that Romney has paid off certain pundits, including her?

He triggered the scanner in the airport, and there was an anomaly; and he refused a pat down, so he was detained. He then said something along the lines of he thinks this is proof the TSA “spends too much time harrassing those who do not want to harm us.”

Well, dipstick, how the heck are they supposed to know that? Take your word for it? If he triggered the scanner or an anomaly was detected, then do the pat down.

Just another act to get bolster his father’s campaign and it’s disgusting.

And during the debates between the two Republican candidates here in 2010 (he and the other candidate); he really let his Libertarian flag fly; but since only me, my husband and a handful of Paulbots bothered to attend, and these debates were hosted by a Paulbot radio show host, it was pretty much kept quiet.

Here’s why I think it’s a campaign stunt: The news that he was detained due to a refusal of a pat down was leaked first by his father on Twitter. His staff didn’t give out that information until after the head Ronulian posted the details. Strange that his staff would know he was detained but not why, however Duddy Dearest knew all the specifics and tweeted them before any news outlet got them.

Post 21 and post 40 from the thread I cited:

So the TSA is not subject to Article 1 Section 6?

...They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``
Sen. Rand Paul was returning to Congress to speak at the March for life this morning.
This is a tweet he sent out before the incident: “Today I’ll speak to the March for Life in DC. A nation cannot long endure w/o respect for the right to Life. Our Liberty depends on it.”
Gingrich will meet with voters Thursday at the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, Fl., a campaign official confirmed. The event starts at 9 a.m.
http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-01-20/news/os-lk-presidential-candidates-lake-20120120_1_gingrich-and-santorum-herman-cain-michele-bachmann
PS: I’ll be there to pick up some bumper stickers and campaign buttons! Whoo Hoo
Rasmussen:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
“This is a stunning reversal”, said Rasmussen just now on Fox News Channel.
Brand new numbers from Florida show that Newt Gingrich is still on a roll. In the Sunshine State, it’s Gingrich at 41% and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney at 32%. This is a poll of LIKELY voters, not just “registered” voters who may or may not even turn out to vote
Amazing considering that “Mr. Gingrich and his super PAC have yet to air a single television ad in Florida. Mr. Romney and his super PAC have already spent nearly $7 million on advertising there. “
Newt leads Romney among women 30-28. Romney gets 0.0% of the 18-29 vote. In that age group Newt gets 31.6%, with undecided in 2nd place with 25.6%.
Gee, this is interesting. RedState (Erick Erickson): http://www.redstate.com/erick/2012/01/22/money-for-santorum/
“I can confirm tonight from multiple sources that phone calls are in fact occurring between Republicans in Washington and among evangelical leaders to raise money for Rick Santorum rapidly. The sources tell me that this is not for a Santorum win, though the evangelicals I spoke to continue to hope it is possible. This is to stop Newt Gingrich. One evangelical leader I spoke to said, “If Newt wins, we won’t be able to make family values an issue in the general.” One lobbyist I spoke to said, “They [the GOP leaders in DC] are really nervous about Gingrich and they think he’d be a disaster. The best way to shut him down is to prop up
Rick.’
This was just Tweeted from a Newt Team: We need more callers for Newt! http://www.newt.org/volunteer Sign up and Help! Join Newt Gingrich’s facebook page as well: http://www.facebook.com/newtgingrich
Newt’s emerging as the true anti-establishment Tea Party leader, plus more. Establishment GOP will pull out all the stops to deny us our want.
Yep - saw a compiliation “smear the Newt” ad during the ball game last night. Mittens and the establishment GOP have their knckers in knots and are getting ready for a scorched earth campaign. IMO, it may not be the worst that can happen - it might very well cause an uprise against the Establishment and help them see the light... It will definitely harden hearts against Mittens as he proves he’s too stupid to see (or care) what Newt understood from the beginning about this tactic.
Insider Advantage Poll - Florida (Newt 34, Mitt 25)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2836406/posts
Newt seems poised to break over 50% on the Florida Primary Intrade Contract (he’s now at 45%):
http://www.intrade.com/v4/markets/contract/?contractId=751751
By contrast, Newt didn’t get this high on the South Carolina contract until Friday, the day before the primary.
And here’s the Newsmax story on this poll:
Newt Surges to Lead in Fla., Romney Trails by 8 Points
http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/gingrich-wins-florida-poll/2012/01/22/id/425086
I think it is time to buy stock in popcorn. The head shrinks will have to diagnose a new ‘derangement syndrome’ for the DC Beltway and Main Stream Media Establishment crowd. LoL.
Schmidt: GOP Establishment Will Have A Meltdown If Newt Wins Florida
-snip-
“Schmidt: “Not only are we not moving toward a coalescing of support with the establishment of Newt Gingrich, we’re probably moving toward a declaration of war on Newt Gingrich by the Republican establishment. And if Newt Gingrich is able to win the Florida primary, you will see a panic and a meltdown of the Republican establishment that is beyond my ability to articulate in the English language. People will go crazy,”
And you will have this five week period until the Super Tuesday states that will be just as unpredictable, tumultuous as any period in modern American politics. It will be a remarkable thing to watch, should that happen in Florida.” “
First of all, flying is a choice and a matter of convenience. No one is forced to fly anywhere at any given point or time, unless they are being extradited, and those situations are rare.
Secondly, the only reason he was being patted down was because the scanner, which he apparently has NO objection to, detected an anomaly. So how should we deal with these situations? If the point of the scanner is to detect anomalies, that lead to further investigation, and he has no objection to the scanner, what is the purpose of this other than a pathetic campaign stunt?
Also my point. On what basis do we determine who “doesn’t wish to harm us”? Their word? He probably taped a roll of quarters to his knee just to trigger the pat down to pull this stunt.
My comment:
<>”Beck is pushing the Libertarian Party..” ~ : DainBramage
True. Right now, he’s another attractive Pied-Piper like Perot was, and in spite of Rush’s warning at the time, many people followed him right over the cliff.
Right now, the “bad-cop” blow-back he’s getting from Levin, along with the “good-cop” blow-back he’s getting from Rush (re playing with the idea of a third party) are both warnings to him to either help us conservatives take back the Republican Party from the RINOS, or he can expect us to turn the “marginalization” heat up even higher on him.
There are only two VIABLE political parties. The way things are set up by these two parties make it an impossibility for a third party to win due to the electoral college. Beck will eventually see the light, heed the warnings and decide to be a team player, or he will self-destruct and wind up a laughing stock.
Not disputing that possibility at all. But see my post 18....
We know RuPaul can’t win the election, but he’s not leaving the race either. I would like to see the how far Rand Paul might take this incident in light of post 18, if true.
TSA is just beginning its power grab. It would be nice to see it brought up in the GOP debates, and if you are right about motive, RuPaul will do just that, and the other candidates will respond with their own evaluation and position.
Just in from Media Research Center (Brent Bozell):
January 23, 2012
Dear [Matchett-PI],
As part of our Tell The Truth! 2012 campaign, MRC Staff will be on the ground in Florida next week.
As the liberal media descend on Florida, we’ll be there too! Our staff will be on hand to pass out signs, buttons, hand fans and bumper stickers emblazoned with our “Don’t Believe the Liberal Media” message. If you are part of a local Tea Party or other conservative group, we’d love to attend one of your rallies or functions in Florida between now and next Tuesday.
The liberal media want to commandeer this election, but we won’t let them. We’re committed to putting boots on the ground wherever there is a focused media presence in 2012 and Florida is our next stop.
If you are part of a grassroots group and would like to help us spread our message, please contact Robyn Stiles at rstiles@mrc.org or call us 800-672-1423.
Thank you,
MRC Action
Technically, he wasn’t travelling to and from a session, or for a speech or debate in the Senate. His speech to the March for Life isn’t part of Constitutionally required job duties, and I would argue that as such, not protected.
He is at least beginning his program fired up and speaking out well on our disgust with the Republican leadership, whom he says are OBVIOUSLY more interested in taking over the Senate and getting the power of the purse than beating Obama because they believe he probably can NOT be beaten.
Newt Gingrich Wants Freddie Mac Records Released Before Florida Primary (Take That Willard!)
ABC News ^ | January 23, 2012 | George Stephanopoulos
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2836592/posts
In response to lobbying accusations from his opponents Newt Gingrich told me it would be “very helpful” if his former company, Center for Health Transformation, released the consulting contract he had with mortgage giant Freddie Mac before the Florida primary on January 31. “I think it would be very helpful and our attorneys are talking with the company. You know I left the company so, it’s their decision and Nancy Desmond, the president of the company, has to make the decision. But I’d be very comfortable releasing them,” he said.
I bet he’s so in the bag for Romney he doesn’t vote for him in the primary.
interesting that the wackjob is claiming he is exempt from being detained because he is in congress
not that what the tsa is unconstitutional
he is one of the ‘masters’ the idiot paultards warn everyone about that we must ‘bow’ to
the big ‘principled’ paultard - so self righteous - is now hiding behind his privilege - instead of standing his ground as a peon citizen
what a fraud
what idiots these paultards are to blindly worship (and bow down to) the hypocritical pauls
Rush is AFLAME today.
He's nailing EVERYTHING in his opening rant.
We're fed up and we're not going to take it any more...not from the GOP elites, not the gutless pundits and not the media.
Newt is THE threat to all of them...and to the status quo.
Go Rush!
Romney came out of SC primary with personal and ugly attacks on Newt. Thus far, he has left that up to SuperPacs and surrogates.
I think this new tact will backfire on him.
