The back surgery excuse made all the sense in the world to me. Had my first surgery last spring. Lots of feel good post-op meds. Within a week, I was able to do my normal routine with the help of those pills. Only later did I realize how truly ‘stoned’ I was! Can’t even imagine how Perry did 1/4 of what he did do for his campaign while still governing in that condition.
Do wish he’d waited to join, and we’d have seen a different candidate. Oh, well, what’s been done is over. He’s relatively young still. If Clinton could overcome being boo’d at a Dem convention and go on to win election twice, I would not write off Rick Perry should he choose to try again in the future.
