White House delay of budget proposal infuriates Republicans

The White House is delaying for one week the release of President Obama's budget for the 2013 fiscal year that starts Oct. 1, a decision that administration officials say was based on "the need to finalize decisions and technical details" but which Republicans say is a direct violation of law.

"This will mark the third time in four years the president has missed his statutory requirement to present a budget on time, while trillion-dollar budget deficits continue to mount. As the president announces another missed deadline, tomorrow marks the 1,000th day Senate Democrats have gone without any budget at all," said House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, called it "an inauspicious way to launch his State of the Union address."

Boeher and McConnell were “infuriated” by Obama’s recess appointments - and have done nothing. What do all those overpaid staffers and legal counsel hired by the Speaker’s office, the Senate Minority Leader’s office, and the Republican National Council, actually do to justify their existence?

Feign outrage, then rub their hands together in glee over all the new toys Obama’s given to play with when they have the Senate and WH again.

Healthcare?!? Yahooooo! Lunchtime recess appointments? Weee! Blowing off budgeting responsibilities? YESSSSSSS!

You’ve hit on why I don’t want Mitt. It would be like having President Mitch McConnell in office. What would change? A tweak here or there, but nothing more.

“...they can furiously rail agains’t the machine for another 4 years all the while getting re-elected themselves by promising to fight Obama...They are not going to rock the boat and endanger their own self interest. Sad but true.”

Memo to Ryan and Sessions:

Y’all talk a good game. But that’s all you are, just talk.

How about growing some cojones and DOING something? Why do you let this Marxist get away this?

Same for the unconstitutional recess appointments. Talk, talk, talk.

You make me sick.

What are they supposed to do? The House is doing everything it can and Paul Ryan has submitted several budgets. You are forgetting that we do not have the Senate and dingy Harry is doing everything that the Republican bills are ignored. BTW it is exactly 1000 days since the Senate passed a budget. So put the blame on the rats, where it belongs, not on the Republicans, especially Congressman Ryan ans Senator Sessions

What do the GOP members expect? The islamic/marxist obamananation administration knows the GOP congress will bend to his will as we have seen when the GOP raised the debt ceiling instead of giving the obama regime their evil victory.

The rinos of DC are as evil as the democrat party who manipulates and runs them over.

Not so. The conservative House needs to block the evil Obama every time he does evil and should be bringing charges of impeachment against him for the unconstitutional and illegal acts he and his regime have done. They should have made their stand against the evil Obama regime but they gave in to Obama at the debt ceiling and proved that all DC is a barrel of rotten apples. And the federal government intends to enslave America while the weak GOP looks on.

For your information it was/is the rats who have not passed a budget. The 2011 budged was supposed to have been passed September 30, 2010, but both Harry Reid, the majority leader in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House had more "important" things to think about which was the election. Who cares about the duty for which they were hired to do by the voters. After the Republicans took the House back in January of 2011, not only did they work on finish the 2011 budget and passed it but also passed the 2012 budget in timely manner.

Harry Reid (D) the Majority leader in the Senate has yet to pass a budget. It's exactly 1000 days since he has passed a budget, and you have the nerve to bitch about the Republicans?

But without having the majority also in the Senate, it won’t do any good. You are forgetting that Harry Reid is blocking everything the Republicans try to put through. Instead of bitching about the Republicans, you should pay attention what is really going on

” If this faction of the BOHICA Party had any cojones, they would stop passing the “continuing resolutions”

They should pass a continuing resolution now with 10% real reduction in spending. Don’t play Obama’s game of waiting until crisis time. Pass it now with serious cuts and lay the ball at Obama’s feet. Get serious about a budget or accept real cuts not just cuts in the rate of growth.

Republicans in Congress don’t want the spending to stop, they just want the spending priorities to change. If they did, they wouldn’t engage in that base-line budgeting BS, trying to convince us rubes that they’ve achieved “cuts” when in fact, as you correctly pointed out, it’s nothing more than miniscule reductions in significant increases.

I don’t think that they can do that. They have to continue everything like it was. That is how the Establishment Republicans stopped the Tea Party Republicans from making any cuts like they promised. Each time the Democrats mention shutting down the Government, Boehur[sp?]shits in his pants on the House floor.

Every time a Republican gets some air time they should talk about this, even if this isn’t the topic of conversation.

They could email, snail mail and call their constituents and ask us to raise hell with the White House.

They could buy ads on radio, TV and Internet web sites.

There’s lots that can be done.

Republicans need to grow some balls and kick some ass. I’m really sick and tired of their Caspar Milquetoast attitude.

I neglected to note the sarcasm in my response; the Republicans are not in any way responsible for the lack of a realistic budget and it’s clear that Obama has used the continuing resolution authority to finance the government instead of using the legal budget process. Obama and his henchmen, with the help of a compliant news media, have been able to keep this out of public view. The failure to have a budget belongs to Obama and his criminal henchmen in Congress and the news media.

You misunderstand. I was asking for an explanation of where you see the Congress as having the power to say no to convening for the SOTU..

Art II Sec 3, on the executive:

“He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them”

You are exactly right. We are fighting pure evil and until people realize that and act accordingly, it is a losing battle. At least Newt seems to be telling it like it is.
