Debate Winner: Mitch Daniels JAN 23, 2012
BY WILLIAM KRISTOL
Ive got to think Monday nights debate further swelled the groundswell of support for Mitch Daniels. The liveliest part of the debate was at the beginning, when Mitt went after Newtand Republicans all over America watched with fascinated horror at the thought that these are the two GOP frontrunners.
The only spectacle in American politics more off-putting than Newt Gingrich in self-righteous defense mode is Mitt Romney in self-righteous attack mode. I thought Mitts attacks were somewhat more dishonest than Newts defenses were disingenuous, but it was good to move on to the rest of the debate, where little further damage was done.

“Ive got to think Monday nights debate further swelled the groundswell of support for Mitch Daniels.”
Um....groundswell? Really? Where?
yep, Mitch will be so much better than Santorum and even better than Newt.
William you just pulled that one out of your ass!
In the mind of Kristol.
Lol, what? I barely know who Mitch Daniels is, aside from him being some establishment hack.
You read my mind. “Groundswell,” only in Kristol’s mind
Now we have the smartest people in the room making a mess of things... sheesh...
The most damaging moment from tonight’s debate wasn’t the flurry of accusations by Romney against Gingrich, but the moment when Gingrich explained that the $1.6 million was the payment to the full company, and his pay was only about $35,000 a year. He then turned it around and asked Romney if all the millions that Bain Capital grossed when he ran it went into his pocket, and Romney snapped back, “That’s irrelevant.” Well, no, it isn’t. That was exactly the point they were talking about. It made it sound as if the guy who’s claiming he should be President because of his vast business experience doesn’t know the difference between gross and net. Romney’s answer was so obviously bad, the audience audibly laughed at it.
It’s one thing when part of the audience boos or doesn’t applaud you. That could happen to anyone expressing a strong opinion. But you’re in deep doo-doo when they start laughing at you.
Mitch Daniels? Seriously?
And again, the establishment pundits don’t have a clue.
Newt may not be pretty, but like Andrew Jackson, he’s a bull with a message, and Americans are listening.
Hey, go check out that web site Mitch has up-Join my cause to have a brokered convention. I think he has 1,400 names signed up last night. Big Ground swell. Okay.
Yeah, if by Mitch Daniels you mean Sarah Palin.
When that happened my wife said "I thought Romney knew what he was talking about when it came to business stuff. Even I know the answer to that!"
Mitch Daniels, where do you stand on the Iran issue? Just a minute, let me check with my wife.
Here's a clue for you Bill “I'm Constipated” Krystal; you and the rest of the establishment types can stick Mitch Daniels, and any other squishy, moderate type straight up your arses...how about that?
The days of the establishment shoving worthless RINOs down our throats is over. We've deemed you irrelevant!
I was so ticked that Williams would not let them both continue on that subject. Romney only likes regulations when he can make profits or to dance around it. I don't like him. Not because he seem desperate today; he comes across as a fake and fishy businessman.
