Yes We Cain: Tea Party Response to the State of the Union

We are so excited to let you all know that the Tea Party Express team is in Washington, D.C. for the Tea Party Response to the State of the Union!

Last year, Tea Party Express delivered the first ever Tea Party Response to the State of the Union with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. This year, Herman Cain will be delivering the official Tea Party Response to the President’s address.

We chose business executive and former Presidential candidate, Herman Cain, to deliver the response because of his strong support of the tea party movement. Mr. Cain has worked with Tea Party Express and local tea party groups across the country for the past several years. He has been a strong voice for the conservative principles and values of the movement.

As a business executive, he understands the economic crisis that we face today. He knows what it will take to turn this economy around and to create a pro-growth environment. Businesses need confidence to invest in their companies and put people back to work, which they are not getting under this current administration.

One area where Mr. Cain differs completely from the President is that he knows we cannot spend our way out of debt. He understands that we are facing tough decisions, and that there will be difficult steps to take in order to balance our budget and put us on the path to prosperity once again.

I am looking forward to this evening and hearing what I hope will be President Obama’s last State of the Union Address. I know this is an official Address, but I fully expect more of the same rhetoric that we often hear from our current President, as he is in constant campaign mode.

I am optimistic that this time next year, we will have a new President that will focus on the issues addressed by Mr. Cain tonight in the official Tea Party Response to the State of the Union!

Tonight, the President will deliver his State of the Union address to the American people and Congress at 9:00 PM EST. Governor Mitch Daniels will deliver the official Republican response after the President finishes his address. Immediately following Governor Daniels’ rebuttal, Herman Cain will deliver the Tea Party response to the State of the Union from the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Pictures to be posted later this evening.

Press release:

Herman Cain to Deliver Tea Party State of the Union Response

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, is announcing that Herman Cain will be delivering the Tea Party State of the Union response at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on the evening of January 24th, 2012.

Sal Russo, Chief Strategist of the Tea Party Express, said, “We are excited to have Herman Cain deliver the 2nd Tea Party State of the Union response next week. Americans are fed up with the Washington politics that fails to address America’s fiscal woes. The Tea Party Express has called for reducing the size, cost and intrusiveness of the federal government, and we have stood strongly for pro-growth policies to get the economy growing and job creation increased.

“We are enthusiastic that a successful governor like Mitch Daniels of Indiana will be giving the Republican response. I know that both Governor Daniels and Mr. Cain will contribute important ideas for the future of our country.

“Herman Cain has been a steadfast advocate for the values of the Tea Party and the practical solutions needed to solve the problems that face our nation. By following President Obama, Cain will have an opportunity to square off with the failed policies of the Obama Administration. Whether it is a flat tax, a fair tax or a combination of the two, reforming the tax code must be a priority. Americans want straight talk and honest solutions, and Herman Cain will deliver a pro-growth message strongly and clearly,” Russo concluded.

The Tea Party Express hosted the first ever Tea Party State of the Union Response last year with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.

Well, we do need as many anti-Obama/anti-Eurosocialist comments and messages in the public domain as possible. If he can reach fence sitters, or people who need a reality check after what Obama just vomited, then so be it. ;-)

When it came on, it kept pausing—some sort of buffering problem, or something like that. When I closed the page and opened it again, it didn’t come back on. I’ll try to catch it later on Youtube.

Cain should repeat the questions as they are not micing the questioners.

He should stop talking about Cobert, who will eventually betray him.

I queued it on my iPad. The web page said that it would start after the Republican response. After waiting a looooong time I decided that they must have used Flash. Note to Tea Party Web folks: Apple products cannot show Flash. At least note it on the page and tell the user that they are out of luck.

I switched to a laptop to hear the end.

Tea Party Express Reacts to President’s SOTU Address

Posted on January 24, 2012

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, was not surprised by President Obama’s State of the Union Address, which showcased the class warfare rhetoric Americans continue to reject and showed no interest in leadership.

Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Americans are tired of listening to Obama pit employees against employers, job creators against those looking for opportunity. He says he will fight obstructionists with action, but has yet to engage in substantive discussion. Instead he does his politicking in front of the camera with carefully crafted speeches. Republicans have passed legislation to address major issues, but they languish in the Democratic Senate without any consideration by this President.

“Americans are no longer fooled by his empty promises of hope and change. The President says, ‘No bailouts, no handouts, and no cop-outs.’ However, after 3 years as President, he has embarked on a path of bailing out company after company, giving handouts to his friends through crony capitalism, and blaming everyone but himself for the horrendous state of our economy. There are no twisting words here – Obama has not only failed at showing any leadership, but has done so while blatantly deceiving Americans with empty promises.

“The Tea Party movement continues to be committed to reducing the size, cost and intrusiveness of the federal government. An important part of our economic recovery is a pro-growth economic agenda. We do not need more government spending, but the creation of an economic environment of lower taxes and a less stringent regulatory system. It starts by reforming our corrupt tax code with a flat tax, a fair tax or a combination of the two like 9-9-9,” concluded Russo.

I noticed that too, but then saw I had my speakers turned down!

Here's the latest email:

Tonight Obama did what he has done for the past 3 years: showcased the class warfare rhetoric WE HAVE REJECTED while showing no interest in providing some semblance of leadership.

He just isn’t going to get it. WE ARE DONE listening to Obama pit employees against employers, job creators against those looking for opportunity. He says he will fight obstructionists with action, but has yet to engage in substantive discussion. Instead he does his politicking in front of the camera with carefully-crafted speeches.   Republicans have passed legislation to address major issues, but they just sit and rot away in the Democratic Senate without any consideration by the President.

NO ONE IS BEING FOOLED BY HIS EMPTY PROMISES OF HOPE AND CHANGE. WE MUST STAND UP AND DEFEAT OBAMA IN 2012! JOIN TEA PARTY EXPRESS’ 2012 RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN!

Tonight he even went as far to say, ‘No bailouts, no handouts, and no cop-outs.’ However, after 3 years as President, he has embarked on a path of bailing out company after company, giving handouts to his friends like Warren Buffet and George Soros through crony capitalism, and blaming everyone but himself for the horrendous state of our economy. There are no twisting words here - Obama has not only failed at showing any leadership, but has done so while blatantly deceiving hardworking Americans with empty promises.

We must continue to be committed to reducing the size, cost and intrusiveness of the federal government. An important part of our economic recovery is a pro-growth agenda – something we WILL NOT get from this President. We do not need more government spending, but the creation of an economic environment of lower taxes and a less stringent regulatory system.

It starts by reforming our corrupt tax code with a flat tax, a fair tax or a combination of the two like 9-9-9. It starts by approving much needed shovel-ready jobs like the Keystone XL Pipeline. It starts by pursuing bold ideas that will restore the fundamentals America was built on.
