Can someone help me argue my statement that Obama is evil?

Posted on 01/25/2012 4:10:34 AM PST by ladymac

I'm involved with an argument on facebook with a liberal. I need quick facts to back up my hatred of Obama. She says it's all opinions and wants me to give facts. I need help because I don't have time to look up a lot of stuff. Thank you so much!

Obama channels Sir Winston Churchill....

Churchill to his war cabinet on strategy to defeat the Nazis:

1. Destroy the means of refining and distribution of petroleum.

2. Destroy the means of production and distribution of electricity starting with coal mining.

3. Destroy manufacturing capacity starting with ball bearing factories.

Later he would authorize terrorizing the civilian population starting with fire bombing Dresden.

Obama continues his war on the American people.

It would be better to argue that Barry’s failed policies are ruining the country.

I disagree that what is “evil” is either an opinion or unknowable in practical terms. Evil is objectively definable in everyday language. Killing children is evil. Slavery is evil. An appeal to envy, and the emotions and conflict it generates, is evil.

One significant failing of apologetics, philosophers and logisticians is the tendency to focus on the minutia of argument in disfavor to the obvious - i.e. the trees instead of the forest. Doing this concedes things which need not be conceded; most specifically the objective nature of “evil” rather than a subjective definition. In perfect theoritical argument what is “evil” IS an opinion or objectively unknowable. In the real world it is not.

Leftists have this pattern (though they’d deny the pattern)

of taking a pattern of behavior, and declaring the behaviors to be unrelated to, or not evidence of, the larger pattern, and declare them to be “isolated incidents”.

Here’s another way of proving the “evil” of the left.
God’s Law.

You can go through the “Big 10” and easily demonstrate how the left is opposed to all of them.

10 - Liberal ideology and socialism are based on envy.
9 - “you’ll be better off if we take what the rich have”, “you don’t have because they do have”
8 - And we’ll use violence (ie, government) to steal what they have
7 - Adultery? Have at it! Sex Positive!
6 - Don’t kill the convicted murderer, but that innocent baby in the womb? Go for it, you’ll be better off without it (see 9)
5 - Your parents don’t know as much as you and your teachers do. Pay attention to us, not them.
4 - Sabbath Day? What’s that?
3 - @@#$%@#! @#&$*@!!!
2 - hmmmm... do they worship “graven” images? Movie/TV stars perhaps?
1 - is there anything that DOESN’T come before the one true God with these people?

“Evil” is a religious term, not a political one. Are you arguing religion?

I'm involved with an argument on facebook with a liberal.

Drop it. Even if you "win" with facts it will devolve into juvenile name-calling.

I’m sure it can be improved upon,
but it was my best on short notice.

Actually it was quite easy, to be honest.

Barack Obama is a socialist. This is not arguable. He believes in redistribution of income. He wants to nationalize health care. He is in with big labor which is collectivist by nature. He is a follower of Saul Alinsky, a friend of Bill Ayers, his father was a socialist, his mentors were socialists. Socialism is slavery. It makes every member of society a slave to the state. Socialism is anti-individual rights. Anything that is anti individual rights is anti-life, therefore evil.

Socialism=slavery=anti-rights=anti-life=evil

He believes your life, your property, your labor are his property. And if your friends support him they are either clueless or evil themselves. Hopefully it’s the former.

Don’t try to argue “evil” until you come to some agreement with your opponent on a definition of “evil,” and then get a commitment from them that they will honestly consider the evidence you present to them.

I usually ask a question like this: “Is there any amount of evidence or rational argument that will convince you to change your mind?” Then only answer after you have received a positive response to the question. Don’t, above all, let them fudge the question; demand a direct yes or no answer. There is no use in arguing with a closed mind.

Since the left generally does not believe in God; especially in the Judo-Christian sense - your “proof” falls flat with them. I readily admit that my first post on this thread, with its Judo-Christian references, has the same failing. However, envy is not favored by enough other religions and belief systems such that one can define it as “evil” across enough cultures to consider it an objective human evil. To your credit, the Ten Commandments (or, to Liberals, the Ten Modest Suggestions), go a long way towards describing proper moral conduct for people in the real world.

As a Christian I could observe that that is exactly why God laid down this law to the Jews through Moses, but that would do no good with most liberals. Can’t teach a horse to sing don’ca know.

I believe the Law is written on all human hearts, and is thus considered “proper moral conduct” across all cultures.
It is a mirror and is THE way to conviction.

If you haven’t yet watched “180” on youtube, when you get 30 minutes, do so. It’s great.

First, hatred is a waste of mental energy. Next, calling the individual evil only shuts down the communication with the backer of the individual. Try explaining the evils that result from the individual’s policies instead. Finally, don’t expect the liberal to listen, but show appreciation if they do so.

Recent news:

How about him rejecting religious freedom the - first amendement - and ordering Catholic hospitals be forced into the birth control business.

How about him just rejecting the pipeline from Cananda (gas prices have risen 88% since he’s been in office) and losing out on 20,000 refinery and pipeline jobs. Now the oil will go to China instead. In the meantime, Iran is threatening to block oil in the Middle East. We were supposed to ease our reliance on Middle East oil. Our economy will die with oil shortages (remember Carter) and the pipeline was one way to lessen our reliance on ME oil. People could die without heat. Oil is not a game. Obama has no alternative fuel. It’s all bs. He’s wasted billions on failed alternative energy companies in stimulous spending.

How about his pushing through and signing unconstitutional power for himself to arrest and detain Americans with no trial, that was in the Defense Authorization bill? He’s classifed his political enemies (including leftists) as domestic terrorists through homeland security.

How about him running guns into Mexico to cartels in Fast and Furious? How about the DOJ laundering drug cartel money?

Yeah, I already pointed that out. This is what she replied with, “None of the bills protected the life of the Mother. He does not support late term abortions and suggested that the States should ban them. That is the rest of the story.”
