Can Newtzilla be Stoped?
Real Celar Politics ^ | January 25, 2012 | Jonah Goldberg

Posted on 01/25/2012 5:48:18 AM PST by libstripper

Newtzilla is back.

Six weeks ago, during the last Newt Gingrich surge, I wrote here that “conventional weapons are useless against Newtzilla. . . . Everything bad about Gingrich — the flip-flops, the wives, the ego — is known. Once voters have convinced themselves they can overlook that stuff, it’s hard to change their minds simply by repeating it.”

Well he may have posed with her on the couch (the ole horndog) but she never saw a part of him that Monica Lewinsky saw of Clintbilly.

Everything bad about Gingrich — the flip-flops, the wives, the ego — is known.

Maybe not.

If one believes Pelosi, she has said -- twice -- that she has enough to keep Gingrich from the presidency. And she sat on the committee that investigated the Gingrich ethics complaints.

Why not release them now? 1-he may not be the nominee, so it won't matter. 2-he may be the nominee, so whatever she has would be more impacting in October than now.

Oh, but she it bound and cannot release such information. Yeah, right. In the sieve of Washington things have a tendency to be leaked when politically expedient.

Pelosi is bluffing in order to try and scare pubbies from voting for Gingrich. If she really has the goods on Newt she would keep her fat trap shut, let newt become the nominee, and then spring it next october.

What she is really saying is, she is scared newt will get the nod, smash bambi and bring in more conservatives to the house an senate.

BJ Clinton used to try to persuade you that this was old news. it wasn't, but he would evade it until he could make that claim.

Speaking of Der_Sclikmyster....

Revenge is a dish served cold.

Does he and Brunhilda make news by not campaigning for ObahMao or even Billy boy going Rouge and endorsing Newt?

After all they had a relationship and got things done if you will....

I am serious about this, it would be payback for 08'...

Freeping minds want to know tell me your thoughts on this...

I think the biggest thing the left is worried about is that Newt will expose 0bama as the intellectual lightweight he is.

They have all their self-worth wrapped up in 0bama’s supposed superior intellect (show us the transcripts!).

They support the “smart guy”, so they’re smart, too.

Jonah Goldberg is brilliantly articulate and clear.

"That’s the great thing about Gingrich: He can make describing himself as the divine manifestation of the vox populi sound self-deprecating."

"Romney seems like a creature put on Earth to blend in with the humans and report back what he finds. He clearly likes earthlings, and they in turn find him pleasant enough, and surprisingly lifelike." "This dearth of convincing passion in the front-runner makes the passionate base of the party want to look elsewhere"

Good.

If Gingrich can do that, he might be able to explain the truth to the Americans who so far haven't been able to grasp it. Jonah Goldberg's brilliant clarity is far beyond their grasp, but Gingrich's gift for passionate clarity might penetrate even the thick skulls and self-imposed blindness of that crowd.

That’s a great description of the impression Romney gives.

He’s a well trained alien, but something just feels weird.

0bama, though, can’t help but slip out with his “lizard” self, displaying his “other than american” true self quite often.

Bingo! They know obama is a phoney and a moron and will be crushed and ridiculed by the real intellectual, Newt.

And if Nancy Pelosi says something, then it must be true. I mean, a leftist Democrat would never lie for political gain, right?

Right?

Well, you know that Hillary doesn't like Barry-O, but it's tacky for ANY SecState to campaign, so she gets a pass.

As far as BJ "going rouge" (LOL), if you think he would endorse Newt, you're hitting the sauce too hard. Maybe he hates O'bama inside, and maybe he feels Newt's pain about bimbo eruptions, but he's not about to jump off the Dem ship, sinking or not.

There's nothing in it for HIM (you think Newt would make him SoS or something?), and as we all know, it's all about HIM.

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the sputtering Mitthra down

Helpless Mittwits meet a fate so grim
Screaming bug-eyed, as he looks in on them

He picks up Ann Coulter and he throws her down
As he wades through the RINOs in the center of town

Oh, no, they say he’s got to go
Go go Newtzilla
Oh, no, there goes NRO
Go go Newtzilla

Oh, no, they say he’s got to go
Go go Newtzilla
Oh, no, there goes NRO
Go go Newtzilla

Oh, no, they say he’s got to go
Go go Newtzilla
Oh, no, there goes NRO
Go go Newtzilla

History shows again and again
how nature points up the folly of man
Newtzilla!

History shows again and again
how RINOs sell us out whenever they can
Newtzilla!

History shows again and again
how RINOs sell us out whenever they can
Newtzilla!

History shows again and again
how RINOs sell us out whenever they can
Newtzilla!

stoped - past participle, past tense of stope (Verb)Verb:
1.(in mining) Excavate a series of steps or layers in (the ground or rock).
2.The process by which country rock is broken up and removed by the upward movement of magma.

Yep ... sounds painful.

Maybe your cultlike devotion requires the suspension of reality but Romney is hardly beaten despite the popular fantasy.

Romney still has to be beaten in new england, the midwest west and southwest.

Gingrich has won one race in a state where he should have never trailed in to begin with.

Now go ahead and call me a Romneybot for telling the simple truth.

There's a reader comment on this article as posted on NRO:

The premise of the films is "you set a Monster to destroy a Monster." If Obama-ism is the monster many believe it to be then it must be destroyed at all costs.

And so, with trepidation, conservative voters disturb the centuries old dust and tread the ancient pathway, turn the locks of doors which should never be opened, shatter the glass which encases him, loose the chains that bind him and unleash The Gingrich.

This has never been about Romney. It has always been about The Obama.

Pretty much sums up my position to a T.
