"Mr. Beck, if I may?"

Dear Glenn,

You have perhaps no bigger fan of your philosophy, nor a more eager consumer of your many books, broadcasts and events, than me. One of the more memorable events in my life was attending your Restoring Honor rally in Washington, D.C., and sharing breakfast with you, several hundred supporters and Gov. Sarah Palin, in support of the Special Operations Warrior Fund. Never will I forget hearing you announce, "Ladies and gentleman, security just notified me that we should all go soon, because the crowd is already filled beyond the reflecting pool." Thank you for the greatness of your vision and the amazing courage of your convictions.

On the other hand he has no problem with Mitt Romneycare or SOPAtorum.

Maybe he thinks he’ll be overshadowed by a real fighter in charge?

Or maybe he’s just for Romney because of pure identity politics.

Glenn Beck was unbelievably obnoxious and outright rude to an older woman caller yesterday.

Glenn Beck has time and again refused to engage in any polite sustained debate with any one who has a view differing from himself. I really found the mocking of the older woman yesterday to not only be ugly, it was just bad radio. I expected better from Glenn Beck and from Pat Gray.

Now Glenn Beck is welcome to get multiple callers to assuage and then massage his ego from the above criticism however, I am confident I am not the only person with this sort of criticism.

What is telling, is the limited discussion Glen does concerning Romney’s overwhelming liberal record.

And yet he can go on for days concerning Newt’s problems.

Indeed, Glenn has become a high school hallway version of Bill O'Reilly.

Hubris and ego have overtaken any humility and decency.

“Glenn Beck was unbelievably obnoxious and outright rude to an older woman caller yesterday.”

Yes. I heard that yesterday also.

Although I have chosen not to support any of the current GOP candidates but will vote against Obama and for who enventually becomes the candidate.

He and his staff were acting like high-schoolers.

I believe that Beck will be losing a lot of listeners if he continues on this track of demeaning callers such as that woman.

He is not any better this morning. Seems to be doubling down on the the "I am right, and I'm pissed that you questioned me" thing. He gets really upset when people even suggest that he may be headed in a nonproductive direction. The lady yesterday did just that and he was so rude.

I loved it when he did that to the liberals..doing this to his fans (more specifically his pool of free information and contributors), well..it's not so great...and kind of dumb.

I seek a political Spartacus, one willing to wrap his clenched fists in gasoline soaked cloth, dip both hands in broken glass and once set ablaze, fight like hell to restore America with an intensity equal to the deep love I feel for my beloved wife and two precious daughters.

What a great line, however, appealing to Beck to become rational is wasting your breath.

Glenn Beck, once one of my favorite people, especially on the mall in DC, has had something go wrong in his brain.

This is a real mental disease that Glenn has developed.

You used to be able to discuss rational viewpoints with Beck, now he goes into a screaming rage.

When his back was hurt a couple of days ago, and Stu and Pat ran the show, I could listen to the whole thing.

When Beck is there, I can barely stand 15 minutes before I turn off Beck and go to quiet music.

The only thing left to do for Beck is pray, he is beyond reason.

You have expressed many of my feelings as well. I am a longtime listener to Glenn's radio program and I subscribe to his GBTV network. Lately, I have found it increasingly difficult to listen to his extended rants against Newt Gingrich - not because I think Newt lacks risks and problems as a candidate, but due to the disproportionate nature of Beck's responses to him.

There is something deeply personal about Beck's distaste for Gingrich and I think he is being (uncharacteristically) dishonest in avoiding the source of his dislike for the man. Mitt Romney is clearly and by any reasonable measure far more of a liberal Progressive than Newt, and yet, Beck continues to claim otherwise for reasons about which he is not coming clean with his audience - and which they deserve to hear.

I'm loathed to point this out but the little incidence where he acted like he was so angry he wanted to punch a family member if they picked Newt and he actually made a punching gesture..that was a little much as well.

I think that happened on Monday's 5PM show. I blew it off at the time because I knew he had been in pain last week and maybe on medications..but this is an important act. Our friend Glenn needs to be reigned in again..I'm afraid.

BTW..they are having Ann Mitt Coulter on today..they should collectively T-off everyone here..male and female.

Follow the money.

Although I think the Mormon connection (which is likely a money connection as well) is part of it; and Beck may have fallen off the wagon.

Whatever the reason or justification, his actions now will undermine his past performances, where he educated the public about Alinsky, Cloward-Piven, etc.

Like him or not, he was a leading voice in the rise of the Tea Party movement. While you might disagree with his current politics, at least take his criticisms of Gingrich as a reminder that none of these candidates are perfect and we, as supporters or detractors, have to continue to question them. When a majority simply take a candidate's words at face value, we end up with a disastrous nominee and/or President, such as our current CIC.

Yup. It's sad actually. Glenn Beck has the smarts and the talent or at least at one time he did. It seems nowadays, Glenn Beck and Pat Gray have to mock, ridicule and bully people to present their perspective.

Incidentally, I find their reliance on Yoda like Star Wars material "limited" and now tedious. They both need some new material, real bad. I continue to regularly listen to his radio show, for the time being.

Melodramatic Beck is showing too much confidence, and too little self knowledge. A pity, because he is right on in so many other areas.

He’s trying to kick an important crew-member out of the aircraft. The termites in Washington are making us less free and less safe, and Beck treating Gingrich like another termite. Whatever he is, Gingrich is not Obama.

Save it for Obama Mr. Beck.

Thanks for your letter.

Beck is a deeply flawed individual, but he played out his Narcissistic vulnerabilities fairly usefully on TV by educating people about critical history and important aspects of the current landscape.

His radio show, surrounded by fawning lackeys, was always mere juvenile humor by comparison.

The isolation and lack of success of his move to his own “GBTV” seems to have left his underlying insecurities unsupported, and they are predictably flailing about in odd explosions of embarrassing efforts to be relevant, to be loved. His sources of self worth lie outside himself, and they are drying up - never a pretty picture.

But enough psychobabble. Historically, the odds at Gettysburg were not the problem for Lee and his army, but severe tactical blunders were. It’s also interesting to note that it was not even considered by most to be a defeat, or at least a decisive one, until a long time after the fact.

Exactly. I listen to him not because I’m a member of any “loyal fan club”, but because he sees things that I miss. If I’ve learned anything from Beck, it’s that seemingly-unrelated events often aren’t.

To illustrate: In war documentaries and movies, our attention is directed on the individual or the small-unit “band of brothers”. So we learn to ignore battlefield tactics, campaign strategy, and grand strategy. Our news outlets do the same these days. (How many news articles begin something like this: “Joe Blow enjoys taking his daughters to school. But a new policy currently under consideration could change all that.”)

No wonder we’re unable to see the big picture; we’ve been trained to ignore the chessboard setup and focus on individual pieces one at a time. Glenn Beck is trying to counter that training.

Essentially meaning, that at some point the Constitution would be ‘hanging by a thread’ and ONLY a saint (mormon) could restore it.
