-- Santorum contemplating leaving the presidential race. --

I think he knows he's "out," and the questions in his mind are timing, and who (if anybody) to support for the nomination.

Uninspiring. He's also a condescending jerk. I suspect he could be a useful tool, in the right hands, but as it stands, he's too full of himself.

Im guessing a case or more of Scotch muat be involved if Boener can get through the “news” without weeping again...
Im glad if he is in an assist mode...(whatever your cryptic bait may be)...but all in all, I am so disappointed in him as Speaker I could spit! And last night (play it again if you can stomach it) when he was introducing the Presidential Escorts for the SOTU address...he was smashed or on medication!

“While the Romney campaign today has worked aggressively to justify its candidate’s Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac investments as a benign oversight, a new report has surfaced indicating that top Romney campaign aides worked as lobbyists themselves for both Fannie Mac and Freddie Mac. Matt Lewis at The Daily Caller reports: “According to the AP, former Rep. Susan Molinari — a top Romney surrogate and adviser . . . was one of the former GOP lawmakers paid quite handsomely to help stop “any meaningful regulation in the years before the housing mortgage giant crashed.”

It could be, but I don't think that CSPAN is controlling the event. I think there are other issues with starting up. It is a town hall meeting, and attendance, security, logistics of setup, etc. are more likely the cause of the delay.

Wonder how the good people of VA will like it if Mittens gets the heave-ho. Pick your favorite loser, VA. No serious contender on the ballot. Not even a write-in. VA reduced to a smoldering pile of insignificance. Heads will roll.

Molinari's name also appears as one of the GOP who facilitated kicking Gingrich to the curb in the late 1990's. She, Talent, and I forget the other name that keeps cropping up - Lindsay Graham maybe?

Part of the Rockefeller wing of the GOP, no doubt; which holds that "centrist" is better, and the farther left they can go, the better.

Or even if he doesn't! What sort of choice is this, "take it or leave it"?

Heads should roll. The party usually does a much better job of disguising the predetermined outcome as being one that lies in the voters' hands.

Molinari is Paxon’s wife. She helppec form the Republican Unity Coalition which is basically social liberals who support a big tent (meaning accepting gay marriage) vision for the Republican party. These are the people opposing Newt and throwing a hissy fit over the base’s rejection of their dream candidate, Romney.

If Santorum stays in to spoil the race for Newt in favor of Romney, he is the biggest fraud on the planet!

I can’t type fast enough to transcribe what he’s saying but it’s very inspiring. Talks about Lincoln, endorsing the building of rails, when he’s never seen a train. He had imagination.
Now the Wright brothers, who had a bicycle shop. They are fascinated with flight...
6 or 7 crashes a day...
finally, the first powered flight, shorter than the wingspan of a 747...
four years later a million and a half people in Manhattan see a plane for the first time...
Good stuff, watch it or catch the video later.

FWIW, I think he's a shrewd politician, as well as being a generally decent guy. I agree with those who speculate he'll do what the party suggests he do, and if that is to support Romney, he will.

I don't care for his vision of the government role, either; but I don't think much about it, because I think Santorum has run out his ability to influence politics on a national level.
