Florida Legislature Moves Closer to New Map- Dem Pickup 2 to 4?
Roll Call ^ | January 25, 2012 | By Joshua Miller

The GOP-held Florida Legislature moved one step closer to a new Congressional map today, with new lines released by the state House Redistricting Committee. Florida Republicans told Roll Call the new map represents something very close to a final compromise plan between the two chambers. The map adds two seats allotted to Florida in reapportionment (one Republican, one Democratic), solidifies a huge GOP advantage in the delegation, endangers freshman Republican Reps. Allen West and Steve Southerland, and leaves a few Members such as Republican Reps. Cliff Stearns and Rich Nugent with big decisions about what district they will run in. If this map were to be law for the 2012 elections, Democrats appear likely to pick up two to four seats, leaving them with eight to 10 districts out of 27.

“Under the 1965 Voting Rights Act, any new Florida map would have to be approved by the Department of Justice or the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia before it becomes enforceable.”

Meaning: The radical Marxist Eric Holder has BIG influence over our new Congressional districts.

“Democrats are almost certain to sue over the map, which they believe violates a new state constitutional provision requiring Congressional lines to be drawn without “the intent to favor or disfavor a political party or an incumbent.”

Meaning: The FL Supreme Court which is 5-2 radical left, has a BIG influence over our new Congressional districts.

What about the voters who elected a GOP House of Representatives, Senate and Governor? Where is our BIG influence over OUR Congressional districts? GONE.

We are no longer a self governing republic. Bureaucrats and Black-robes rule us.

The worse thing about it is that the republicans who have had the dems on the ropes for nearly 20 years will be letting them up. The dems will parade up and down the state saying look how republicans treat blacks in the party. The RINOs will moan and cry that only RINOs will be able to win elections in the state because people think republicans are racists. Even though it’s the RINOs and the dems who did the deed.

This is what RINOs do when they get into office, find a way to make a deal with the democrats to remove conservatives. I’ll never understand how conservatives can even imagine voting for a RINO. Allen West is the greatest thing to come into the house for the republicans in years. Yet because he is a conservative, he will be the first one to suffer the RINO’s wrath.

As if to prove your point W-one, Little Dick Durbin will host a Judiciary Committee meeting tomorrow at a south FL courthouse. The topic: Suppression of minority turnout due to FL’s new Voter ID law, which has been stayed by a federal court.

Good morning tenten!

Who is this “disenfranchised” voter? What does his/her life look like? What is their demographic? I need not recite the necessity of an id to function in either commerce or government in the United States.

Consider simply this:

What person is so detached from society as to not be able to provide positive identification (free to the homeless/penniless in most cases) and yet so connected to that same society that voting is absolutely critical?

This sliver of the American electorate either won’t be missed because it doesn’t exist or is in serious need of professional help.

Our rat Senator Bill Nelson started making a stink about the law when it passed in early 2011.

He’s up for reelection this year. Without imaginary, dead, and illegal voters, he doesn’t have a chance.

So Little Dick once again corrupts our system by holding a hearing here for the benefit of Nelson just a few days before our primary. He invited our Governor to attend, to explain himself and his awful, redneck, racist state. He will not of course attend.

I haven’t checked, but assume it will be televised. It should be an interesting freak show.

I don’t understand why a court would stay this “new” law. I’ve had to show my ID in Florida every time starting with the first election after 2000. I’m sure Jeb Bush put that one into law. It isn’t new and there was little complaint about it until Obama got into office.

Dickie dirtbag can take his corrupt self back home to Illinois.

They’ll be certain to trot out the homeless honor student working on her PhD in curing childhood cancer who’s just too busy and too poor to get any id, but her college id.
