No wonder they pulled this flyer. It is DEVASTATING!

Is there any big government program he left out?

Hah, excellent find. I’d love to have used this when arguing against Santorumites.

My computer runs screaming from the room at the word—ADOBE.

Do tell what the heck this flyer story is about.

Not good, but not really devastating. A couple of the items are pretty lefty, but I am guessing that this “brochure” was aimed at your average “not paying attention” in the middle independent to counter the hysteria from the left.

I don’t think Rick is really in this anymore. Not enough boots on the ground in big states.

Use this PDF reader... it replaces Adobe and uses almost no resources on your PC.. I've been using it for years ;)

That can't be. I just saw Dickie Morris on Fox News saying that Santorum won the last debate and with Newt and Romney sniping at each other, Santorum will be the beneficiary. He's looking for a Santorum bump in Florida. After Morris's dead-on prediction for South Carolina (Romney wins, Santorum second, and Newt third), I'm sure he's right this time too. < /s>

Too much to type out.

Essentially, it is the flyer he used to advertise himself as a populist Moderate in PA in 2006, which he removed from his website to run for President.

In it, he openly brags about the new entitlement programs he fought for, the expansion of existing entitlement programs, fighting against food stamp cuts, forcing employers to provide insurance to EX employees, pushing through a law guaranteeing Social Security benefits could never go down and must increase annually, securing federal money for a green energy plant in PA.

It brags about how he partnered with John McCain to enact tougher lobbying laws, boasts of working with Chris Dodd and of introducing the “Gasoline Affordability and Security Act” of 2005,which regulates “price gouging” and “unfair pricing by the big oil companies (his words)”

Wow, #1 was enough for me.

Yeah, let’s “guarantee” that no entitlements anywhere or any time under any circumstances. No problem.

It’s the big big government people vs. the little big government people.

what thuh heck?

why would santorum have ever put something like that, which sounds like it was created by his political enemies, on his own website??

santorum, like newt, are in process of evolution. personally i think newt has a much sharper spearhead as well as being a real idea guy, while i like a few of santorum’s current policies better. looking at the old santorum is a little like looking at the old newt. what’s more enlightening is not just the past but the trend.

Thank you so much Titan! I appreciate it very much. OMG. We knew all those things with Santorum but nothing like this was available at fingertip. THIS is why he is sounding like a suspension speech is in the offing.

Go read the flyer. These are things about which Santorum himself was boasting until he suddenly realized this was not a Good Thing.

Sorry, but Santorum (whose only virtue in my opinion was that he was pro-life) was a basic big-government “humane” conservative. Well, except for his attitude to Social Security and Medicare, which people have actually paid for and which he is blaming them for accepting and wants to take away from them. But he’s ok, I’m sure he’s vested in the Senate pension/medical plan.

What it means is Santorum was more of a run of the mill senator than a tea party conservative. Not necessarily good but not devastating.

You'd probably find something about the Internet Protection Act supposedly designed to protect chilluns' from internet predators.

They all claim they sponsored it.

OnlyTony Wiener claimed he wrote it!

Tony probably did the research too.

Now, about R. Emmet Tyrrell, his great grandfather and my great grandfather were partners in a business down in Brown County, Indiana some years back. It was rather like Bain ~ buy a business, feed capital to the local manufacturers, sponsor a marketing firm ~ take the product to the state fair every year and then walk off with all the money.

That probably seems like a great way to make a living to R. Emmett but he'd be wrong. Adolph Hitler came along and he murdered all the downstream small merchants in Europe who ordered up all the special stuff not otherwise sold at the fair. Actually, Adolph destroyed a business nearly 1,000 years old!

Bain is accused of crossing the line several times with a trick where the current company owners were asked to borrow up the ying yang ~ then Bain would buy all the assets ~ and sell them ~ leaving the original owners with an unsecured debt.

No, R. Emmett, your Great grandfather and my Great Grandfather got caught short by Adolph ~ they didn't copy him!
