Hawaii Senate candidate Linda Lingle is out of the gate with a towering fundraising haul: $1.7 million during her first quarter in the race.
The sum is almost three times what Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee-favored candidate Mazie Hirono raised over the same period.
Lingle's campaign notes that 44 percent of donations came from inside the Aloha State, a statistic that highlights the reach of her national fundraising base.
The campaign statement does not list a cash on hand number; Hirono carried $1 million into the year.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee's Brian Walsh chest-beats with a bit with context: "Governor Lingle raised more money in less than three months, than both Democrats Hirono and [Ed] Case raised combined, over a six-month period. And the governors in-state fundraising percentage was at a higher level than both Sens. Inouye and Akaka in their last campaigns."
Lingle has aided BHO2 to hide his records at the HDOH. Get real - she’s corrupt!
Where DID linda get all of that money?
Contributions from the Hi dept of health or sumpthin? Puhleeze!
Lingle’s a RINO.
Alas she’s probably the best HA has to offer the GOP these days. Unlike true conservatives, RINOs can be bent. We just need a strong enough conservative in the WH so that we’re the ones doing the bending for a change! Until we’ve had time to replace a whole bunch of RINOs in the Senate such is the best for which we can hope.
Good to hear! I like Lingle quite a bit. She’s smart and tough, and knows how to win elections in a state where Republicans rarely do. She’s more liberal than I like on social issues, but this is Hawaii. I’ll take her pro-trade stances and her willingness to fight against EPA over-reaches over the retiring Akaka or any lefty looking to replace him.
