Unemployment claims up. Gas prices soaring. $5 trillion more in debt.

And the sheep are satisfied.

Unreal!

The spectacle that is the GOP Primary is allowing voters to say OK Zero is still electable. We need to take a hard look at this and create a all encompassing and welcoming environment. There is no excuse for not taking out a sitting POTUS w/ the disaster he is swimming in...

This is a base bump. The strong disapprove is staying steady in the high 30s. That number will creep up as the year goes on....every year in January, this guy gets a bump from the false optimism portrayed by the media for the year ahead. As things hit the fan, he’ll creep back up.

Good folks, Give it a couple of days and Obama will sink back into the -20+ area as he has after every little bump upward!!!

Unemployment claims up. Gas prices soaring. $5 trillion more in debt.

...Not to mention the 20K jobs that will NOT happen as Obama disapproved Keystone XL.

The sheep are indeed satisfied... because they've been told to be so.

Remember the America of long ago in which its populace actually employed a little critical thinking?

“And the sheep are satisfied.”

Behold the power of the MSM. The sheep don’t get upset until the MSM tells them they should be upset!

Gas up to $3.50/gal, up over 80%? No problem, it’s creating energy independence, go back to sleep sheep!

Unemployment up over 8.5%? No worries, it’s the new normal, caused by Bush! Go back to sleep sheep!

It’s why I’m extremely pessimistic about November.

Exactly...

$3.50 gas, 8.5% unemployment, higher taxes... the “new normals.”

Get with the program, sheep.

His base actually seems underwhelmed with the speech. They are all out there chattering that the time for lofty rhetoric is over. Time to put-up with some real hard-core Marxism or shut up in their view.

My guess is you got it about right, the class warfare rhetoric is waking up the base. That was always a given, that Obama will deliver most of his base-but not, I think, in the proportions he claimed them in 2008. The question for us is whether the class warfare rhetoric reaches over into the undecideds or moderates and then we have a real problem.

Although we have to watch this carefully, I think we will find that this race will have its ups and downs but Obama and his opponent will appear to be within striking distance of each other until after Labor Day when the race will break one way or the other, my guess is for the Republican and the win will be clear. However, the Straits of Hormuz offer a demagogue in the White House a perfect opportunity for an October surprise.

I was unnerved at first too, but the interesting thing is this:
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) at least somewhat disapprove.
Believe it or not, his overall approval has dipped slightly. That's a good sign.

In other interesting news, the Newtster's electability numbers are now close to Romney's:

In potential 2012 match-ups, it’s Obama 46% and Romney at 43%. If Gingrich is the GOP opponent, the president leads 48% to 41%.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of Likely Republican Primary voters believe that Gingrich's ethics are at least as good as most politicians.  That's less an endorsement of Gingrich than a reflection of how voters view politicians.
People are making their peace with imperfection. Newt may be a lose cannon, but with the Newster we'll win a few. Just keep a pitch fork handy for the times that he'll inevitably go rogue (and NOT in the Palin sense of that word).

What ever gave Obama the idea that he can tell people what to say about him?? Oh ya, the White House Press Corps (”s” is silent).

Tricky poll to interpret sometimes.

His ‘strongly approve’ went up 3 points...no doubt due to his SOTU wish list-a-thon.

But the ‘total approve’ went down 2 points, and ‘total disapprove’ crept up a point.

So, the ‘passion index’ improved...but his total approval actually dropped since yesterday.

One could conclude that the SOTU energized his base...but he got absolutely no movement on fence sitters.

And he probably knew this going in. They have really given up any pretense of wanting white middle class votes. It all hinges on unions, leftists, education elitists, and inner city votes traded for cigarettes now.
