Era of Voting for RINOs is Declared Over
Veritas2002 | 01-26-12 | Vanity

Posted on 01/26/2012 11:19:20 AM PST by veritas2002

This morning I authored a Vanity Post declaring that under no circumstance would I vote for Romney.

Even though I am a lifelong Republican and have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my 60+ years, I am finished with the biased liberal media (including Fox) and the Republican establishment selecting my (losing) candidate. Here are some of my reasons:

In 1976, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named Gerald R. Ford ran against a two-bit peanut farming liberal Georgia governor and LOST.

1n 1992, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named George Bush ran against a liberal Arkansas governor with a history of raping and abusing women and LOST.

In 1996 a sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named Robert Dole ran against a sitting liberal president named William (stained blue dress) Clinton who was later impeached and disbarred and LOST.

In 2008, a long-term sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named John McCain ran against a do-nothing jerk US Senator from Illinois whose sole qualifying credential was as a community organizer for ACORN and student of Saul Alinsky and LOST.

And now in 2012, the Republican Party insiders, along with the liberal press are trying to once again pick our candidate - a MODERATE Massachusetts Governor who introduced socialized medicine to his State and guess what my friends...

Once again, please provide the name of a single GOP candidate who hasn't been called a RINO in this forum.

DARE YOU!!!

Vote against the RINO in the primary. Vote against the ‘Rat in the general. Repeat as needed.

If you vote for a liberal with an (R) next to their name, you're still voting for a liberal.

And if you support a liberal with an (R) next to their name simply because they have an (R) next to their name, you're telling the GOP that you are fully okay with them shifting to the left.

If the GOP is going to run liberals with (R) next to their names, they need to understand that Conservatives will not support them, end of story.

The idea that a liberal with an (R) next to their name is better than a liberal with a (D) next to their name is a dangerous belief, because both of those liberals want to take you down the road to socialism. It's just a matter of how fast they take you. They're still going to take you down that road.

I’ve always been a card carrying republican but this all out assault on Newt and forcing Romney on us will make me leave the tent. I’m 34 and I know politics is nasty but this is the most coordinated effort to destroy a campaign as I can ever remember. And for what, so we can have Mitt Romney? Have we really sunk so low that we think this jackass is our best shot.

America survived 3 years of Obama, and will survive another 5 just fine. Obama is a lousy manager and a mediocre politician, with GOP in control of the House nothing will pass anyway, and in 2014 the usual midterm electorate will increase the GOP majority, even if the economy grows (and it probably will grow at 3%, 3.5% at best). In any case, Romney will not do anything materially different from Obama, and since the real fiscal crisis is about 10-12 years away, the deadlock is the best we should expect in the next presidential cycle or two.

I see no point in voting for Romney, given the choices the second term for Obama may be preferable, and perhaps in 2016 we can have some decent candidates.

If that is the description of a Republican, then I guess I am a heartless RINO. I fear I really am a RINO with the direction the party has been moving over the last 2 decades.

If the Repub-Lickin’ Party has gone so far to the left that the elites actually WANT Romney.....then I am the true RINO.

And, frankly, I believe the GOP elite wants exactly that. I believe they want to lose to Obama. I believe some horrible American collapse is very close. And I believe the GOP would rather that the history books note that it was a Democrat at the helm at that time.

I think it is safe to say that both Pub's and Dem's are putting party before country and what you say is as logical a statement as any I have heard.

I think both parties are jockeying for who get's to control how much statism/socialism when trying to rebuild America. After all, it wouldn't possibly occur to them to READ the Constitution every once and a while and re-apply that framework to get us out of the crapper.

If the race winds up being Rombama vs. Obamney, the corrupt establishment can celebrate no matter which “wins”.

Because everything that matters will lose.

That approach invariably leads to losers like McCain being the nominee.

Anyone who says that they would vote for the RINO in the general election contributes to making sure that the RINO will be the nominee.

Good analysis.

The only thing is you left out a big government Republican candidate running in 2000 and 2004.

This pic is not meant at you but at mythbots in general.

I'm not going to vote for Romney for the simple fact the elite want him to be the nominee. They want to keep Obamacare in tact so they can manage it, syphon money from it.

Voting for a Rino is like voting for a democrat.

Thanks for admitting you're a moron. As if we didn't already know.

And the original question stands...can you name a Republican candidate who has not been labeled a RINO in this forum?

Answer: No, you can't.

When I have to spend a whole day defending Sarah Palin against FReepers calling her "pro-abortion", things have become insane.

Mittens has the same plan and ideology as Obama up to and indcluding Romeny/Obamacare, abortion and gay special rights and socially engineered dominance. I won’t vote for Obama and I won’t vote for Romney.
