This morning I authored a Vanity Post declaring that under no circumstance would I vote for Romney.
Even though I am a lifelong Republican and have NEVER voted for a Democrat in my 60+ years, I am finished with the biased liberal media (including Fox) and the Republican establishment selecting my (losing) candidate. Here are some of my reasons:
In 1976, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named Gerald R. Ford ran against a two-bit peanut farming liberal Georgia governor and LOST.
1n 1992, a sitting MODERATE Republican president named George Bush ran against a liberal Arkansas governor with a history of raping and abusing women and LOST.
In 1996 a sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named Robert Dole ran against a sitting liberal president named William (stained blue dress) Clinton who was later impeached and disbarred and LOST.
In 2008, a long-term sitting MODERATE US Republican senator named John McCain ran against a do-nothing jerk US Senator from Illinois whose sole qualifying credential was as a community organizer for ACORN and student of Saul Alinsky and LOST.
And now in 2012, the Republican Party insiders, along with the liberal press are trying to once again pick our candidate - a MODERATE Massachusetts Governor who introduced socialized medicine to his State and guess what my friends...
DARE YOU!!!
You NAILED it!
I asked you first.
I’ve always been a card carrying republican but this all out assault on Newt and forcing Romney on us will make me leave the tent. I’m 34 and I know politics is nasty but this is the most coordinated effort to destroy a campaign as I can ever remember. And for what, so we can have Mitt Romney? Have we really sunk so low that we think this jackass is our best shot.
You were responding to my post asking that question, idiot.
America survived 3 years of Obama, and will survive another 5 just fine. Obama is a lousy manager and a mediocre politician, with GOP in control of the House nothing will pass anyway, and in 2014 the usual midterm electorate will increase the GOP majority, even if the economy grows (and it probably will grow at 3%, 3.5% at best). In any case, Romney will not do anything materially different from Obama, and since the real fiscal crisis is about 10-12 years away, the deadlock is the best we should expect in the next presidential cycle or two.
I see no point in voting for Romney, given the choices the second term for Obama may be preferable, and perhaps in 2016 we can have some decent candidates.
Was your post asking anyone to name someone that has not been called a RINO on FR? Idiot.
If that is the description of a Republican, then I guess I am a heartless RINO. I fear I really am a RINO with the direction the party has been moving over the last 2 decades.
That was the question that came first, stupid.
If the Repub-Lickin’ Party has gone so far to the left that the elites actually WANT Romney.....then I am the true RINO.
I think it is safe to say that both Pub's and Dem's are putting party before country and what you say is as logical a statement as any I have heard.
I think both parties are jockeying for who get's to control how much statism/socialism when trying to rebuild America. After all, it wouldn't possibly occur to them to READ the Constitution every once and a while and re-apply that framework to get us out of the crapper.
Post 111 is the only answer I have for you, short-bus.
If the race winds up being Rombama vs. Obamney, the corrupt establishment can celebrate no matter which “wins”.
Because everything that matters will lose.
That approach invariably leads to losers like McCain being the nominee.
Anyone who says that they would vote for the RINO in the general election contributes to making sure that the RINO will be the nominee.
Good analysis.
The only thing is you left out a big government Republican candidate running in 2000 and 2004.

This pic is not meant at you but at mythbots in general.
I'm not going to vote for Romney for the simple fact the elite want him to be the nominee. They want to keep Obamacare in tact so they can manage it, syphon money from it.
Voting for a Rino is like voting for a democrat.
And the original question stands...can you name a Republican candidate who has not been labeled a RINO in this forum?
Answer: No, you can't.
When I have to spend a whole day defending Sarah Palin against FReepers calling her "pro-abortion", things have become insane.
Thanks for admitting you’re a moron. As if we didn’t already know.

Okay you mental midget, you have answered your own question with the only answer that is acceptable to you.
Now answer MINE.
Mittens has the same plan and ideology as Obama up to and indcluding Romeny/Obamacare, abortion and gay special rights and socially engineered dominance. I won’t vote for Obama and I won’t vote for Romney.
“NO to Romney, now and in the future. The GOP can just die for all I care now. Burn the republican party to the ground and stir up the ashes. It is cancer, desperately in need of surgical removal and thrown into the biohazard waste bin.”
AMEN!
“America will be destroyed if Obama wins again.
It will also be destroyed if Romney gets in as well. That’s just the fact”
Along with that fact is the notion that as it is destroyed with a Republican at the helm, it’s all the Republican’s fault,,,so no hope EVER of resurrecting Republican ideals.
No thanks!
“Even if the obamessiah wins, a constitutional congress can hold the line against an anti-american president and maybe we can take the next 4 years to build the constitutional party we desire. “
You know, I used to think so. Buttttttt,,the way Obama grabs power,,means to me that he would certainly circumvent any resistance that SHOULD come from the balance of powers. He has already proved he is more than willing to do that, even though his party holds the Senate. Obama does NOT care about the implications,,only the power and he urges the little people (you and me) to fight each other to figure out who wins. The man is slime!
‘We need a guy like Ron Paul to lead us!”
I’m sorry but Dr Paul (God bless him!) can’t lead himself to the end of a sentence let alone lead a country. I like a LOT of what he has to say and hope he has a place in our country’s leadership in the future. I just can’t get behind him as a leader now,,,sorry.
Is it a tell? Obama Hussain drinks only water cos he’s a Muslim?
Hate to tell you, but Reagan got over 50 percent in 1980.
http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/national.php?year=1980
Oh, cool, thanks. Not sure where I got the wrong idea from. I’m sorry I discredited Ronnie’s record.
I’ve taken the no RINO’s pledge myself.
Wrong!! Blame the GOP for nominating a liberal. Not those that vote their conscience. Or better yet blame the “go along to get along” voters that support whatever RINO the GOP forces on us and allowing them to keep pushing these less than conservative candidates on us cycle after cycle. The GOP elite would rather be in charge of a rump party, than actually take the fight to the enemy. So screw them!! I'm done with being told to shut up and vote for who we say to or it's your fault if we lose. F that!!!
McLame was the last RINO. I'd rather be the loyal opposition, than relegated to the backwaters of the GOP, because the RINO elite are in charge. Which is what will happen to Conservatives if Mitt wins.
In 1992, there was a populist little bugger from Texas with big ears named Perot who screwed things up. Not that Bush was perfect, but he did give us Clarence Thomas, a great Supreme pick.
In 1996, war hero Bob Dole, who literally gave his right arm for the country, took one on the chin for the Republicans because nobody was going to beat Clinton that year.
One can find explanations and rationalize almost anything. I voted for Newt yesterday in Florida's advance voting primary; my wife voted for him today. Not only because has presented actual plans that have a high probability for success in turning around the economy and reversing some of the trends toward socialism, but more so because he's willing to attack those who make personal attacks on him, and because his attacks actual have basis behind them, and defensible when considering facts and logic rather than innuendo and emotion. Newt exercises sound judgment and does not change his positions based solely on polling. Newt has some backbone; he's not a playground bully as is Mitt.
If Romney is the GOP nominee, I will write in another name, but I will not vote for Romney. I will, however, vote. I'll vote for the most conservative Congress I can get, to restrain whichever big government leftist we get stuck with. I'll vote with my dollars as I go Galt to an even greater degree. Romney is simply unacceptable, and I pray we won't have to face that terrible election night, when neither outcome would be acceptable.
gremlin
Let me clue you in. America is dead now. The coroner simply hasn't filled out the certificate listing exact time and cause of death.
The odds are 90+% that we are going to have an economic meltdown. And well before 2016. How it will play out, depression or social chaos? No one knows. But it will be uglier than the 30s.
If I thought there was even a small chance that a liberal flip flopping RINO named Romney could prevent that happening, I'd consider voting for him. His policies won't do a thing except ensure that a "Republican" is in office when the collapse hits. He couldn't stand up for a principle if he could recognize one. Which he can't. And he sure as hell isn't going to stand up to the Democrats or the media machine backing them. He'd be nothing but an appeaser to their demands.
It is going to take a miracle to even slow down the death of this republic. Newt is not a miracle, but he's all we have. And I believe that it is possible (though not probable) that he would show some hidden depths and strengths were he to be elected. Romney is a caricature of a leader.
And, as a cold hard matter of reality, Romney absolutely cannot win. I knew McCain (the lying back stabber) couldn't win, but I voted for him. Not doing that again.
Bump!
“That was Bob Dole before Viagra. He’s still a coot, though. “
I think the real reason he was using that Viagra was so he didn’t roll out of bed at night.
I was only listing the LOSERS. I agree with you about Bush. he was a disappointment to me. That’s why his brother would not be an acceptable candidate either. Besides, I loathe the abortion loving Barbara Bush.
Wow you sure are brave now. Let's see how you act if things really did hit the fan.
But first we should thank the GOP Establishment for demoralizing the base to the point that they don't vote.
I frankly at this point do not care if Obama wins again. The establishment
keeps choosing our candidates because we in the end go out and vote
for them. They all figure where else are we going to go!!!!! Well I for one
will absolutely NOT be any part of Romney winning. If we do not take a
stand we just have given up our very rights to choose our government!!!!
I will vote for a third party spoiler.
Trump even.
I am done with the GOP nationally if Mitt is forced on us..no way.
Amen...for the first time in 8 elections for POTUS I will sit it out or vote a third party if Mitt Romney is forced on us.
I will help conservatives in state and local as usual
I used to think folks here like tpaine and OWK and Mertz and Willie who always said this were nuts...and they were maybe ..lol...but I am now to the end of my tolerance for the GOP if they give us a pro abortion, pro gun control, pro homosexual agenda, stands for nothing candidate.
and I have been broken glass and a financial supporter like my daddy and his daddy going back even to Dewey and beyond
I remember the Goldwater yardsigns and my home is decorated with pics of my dad with Magnus and other notables like Fred etc...so this is not something I take lightly
But till this moment I never realized how unconservative so much of the GOP hierarchy and punditry actually are. They are just less liberal than the Dems and only pay token lip service to we who elect them. They are certainly not social conservatives as we know it.
The past 48 hours have been nothing short of an epiphany. We need to strike back and hard...fierce.
Sarah Palin has been critiqued..even by me ..but never called a RINO
Louie Gohmert...never to my knowledge
Saint Jesse Helms...lol...I doubt it..I mean seriously?
Bachmann...not to my knowledge..she has been labeled angling for Romney VP slot but never called RINO
Allen West has never been called RINO I can assure you
DeMint ..only when he failed to criticize Mitt
there are more...
problem is dearest...many of the GOP sans the teaparty newbies are RINOS..as well as most the punditry
that has been made crystal clear past 48 hours
Post 15. It devolved from there. I’m still waiting for her to answer my question.
Yes, there is a party called the Constitution Party. It was started by Howard Phillips in 1991.
Romney and Rove’s GOP is little different from the demonic-rats, so he// no I won’t vote for or support “the abortionist/statist socialist healthcare pushing Mitt Romney under any circumstances whatsoever!!”
GO NEWT!
GO TEA PARTY!
GO FREE REPUBLIC!
"No telling who we will get, Obama, Gore, Kerry, maybe Barney Franks lover. At least we wont get unsuitable Republicans."
