Drudge leads establishment/RINO backstabbing of Gingrich
Deseret News ^ | January 26, 2012 | Eric Schulzke

......The Drudge outburst seems to reflect a growing sense among the conservative opinion commentariat that Gingrich as nominee is a serious liability in a pivotal election year, a fact the GOP base has yet to fully grasp. The pundits apparently view themselves as the sober older sibling warning a starry-eyed sister about the hot guy on the Harley who's been around enough to leave a mark.

Nov 14, 2011: Special report: The golden age of opposition research Original source – Reuters .....Overall, Romney is thought to have the best oppo team in this Republican primary, with Yost as chief of research and Matt Rhoades, another veteran of RNC opposition research, as campaign manager. No one in the Romney organization would comment.

*****************

....."Frustrated rivals think they know the secret: a low-profile, hard-driving Republican operative named Matt Rhoades, who is Romney’s campaign manager. Rhoades met Drudge, as POLITICO Editor-in-Chief John F. Harris and co-author Mark Halperin reported in their book “The Way to Win: Taking the White House in 2008,” when he became research director of the Republican National Committee and was introduced by his predecessor on a special trip to Miami. Rhoades has since been seen as a pipeline to the reclusive Drudge, who now has two veteran Washington reporters working on the site as well.".... Source

Title should be “Drudge leads media backlash against conservatism.”

Him and Coulter can hope for their cocktail party invitations to rub elbows with the elitists. They are dead to me.

And the deseret news has no dog in the fight right ?

“The Deseret News is a newspaper published in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, and is Utah’s oldest continuously published daily newspaper. It has the second largest daily circulation in the state behind The Salt Lake Tribune. The Deseret News is owned by Deseret News Publishing Company, a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, which is a for-profit business holdings company owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” wiki

"conservative backlash"?

The headline from this Salt Lake City "news"paper is 100% wrong. Soon-to-be President Gingrich is a stalwart Christian Constitutional Conservative. Newt Gingrich is the Reagan of our era.

Those involved in the so-called backlash are certainly not Conservative. And Mitt Romney is not to the right of Obama. Only the pigmentation and hair styles are different.

What makes drudge a conservative? He’s just a guy who posts links and a picture on his page. He has never articulated any conservative view, as far as I’m aware.

This paper is owned by the Mormon church and has been in the tank for Romney since the beginning.

There is no “conservative” backlash against Gingrich. I am, however, surprised at just how deeply Romney’s people and Romney’s money were able to penetrate the media organizations that develop conservative opinion.

I am exceedingly proud, however, that a lot of us aren’t falling for the propaganda barrage. No, we are not shambling zombie flunkies for the voices of talk radio or Fox News.

Thank you, you who contribute here, because when I read your posts I realize that the whole conservative movement hasn’t gone completely insane.

Electability my eye. Anyone with half a brain can see that Flip will not be able to hold the Republican base together. Talk about the moderates and independents all you want, they won’t make any difference without the base turning out.

Romney would get crushed in the general, this is all about a squish who would never rock the boat. The perfect malleable candidate.

6/12/11 “Mitt Romney Leads the Drudge Primary”

.........” The second aide to a Romney rival said he takes comfort in a simple fact.

“Romney had Drudge in 2008 and still wasn’t able to win,” he said.

Yep, the pubbie pundits view us dumbass redneck rube TEA party jerks as too wild eyed and immature to pick our candidate.

I am so wild eyed right now, that it's good that I'm not in contact with any pundit.

I would hate to do time for doing the crime that is in my head right now.

They have been co-opted by the Republican establishment. I wouldn’t go so far as saying they are dead to me as every single person or group is needed in the upcoming battle against Obama, and even afterwards, but I definitely discount everything they have to say during the primary. The RNC must be paying them handsomely for their role in attacking Gingrich.
