Dole Goes Nuclear (I'LL TOSS IN MY THREE BITS)
National Review ^ | January 26, 2012 12:46 P.M. | Bob Dole

Posted on 01/26/2012 6:12:17 PM PST by Chi-townChief

"I have not been critical of Newt Gingrich but it is now time to take a stand before it is too late. If Gingrich is the nominee it will have an adverse impact on Republican candidates running for county, state, and federal offices. Hardly anyone who served with Newt in Congress has endorsed him and that fact speaks for itself. He was a one-man-band who rarely took advice. It was his way or the highway."

I'll quickly toss in my three bits for you to tear apart:

1. Senator Dole's a fool for going after Newt here and now. 2. Dole was a very poor presidential candidate. 3. Dole's a hero not only for his sevice but for holding the line against Ol' Slick in '93 and '94 while the conservatives first crumbled then finally regrouped and counterattacked.

Flame away ...

Ol’ Bob Dole, what a loser, he wants the GOP to replicate his nomination in ‘96 so we’ll lose again. His was the most pathetic campaign, probably worse than McNasty’s, if you can imagine that.

For the past three years, ever since the Obama Regime has been in power, Bob Dole has seen fit to remain mute. All the while Marxism runs rampant in the White House.

But now, the doddering old fool manages to summon the strength to attack another Republican. What a set of priorities...

“If Gingrich is the nominee it will have an adverse impact on Republican candidates running for county, state, and federal offices.”

Kind of like you did in 96’ there Bob??

People that could only get 41% of the vote, probably should keep their opinions to themselves.

Gingrich practically single handedly won the House for the GOP for the first time in 40 years and forced a leftwing radical president to the center.

In public life, what have YOU done to save America, Mr Dole?

Dole’s such a milktoast I voted for Alan Keyes in the FL primary. I could care less about his or his fellow Republican congressmen opinion of Newt Gingrich. They allowed the Democrats to ride Newt out on a rail and put their boy Hastert in there.

NONE of them have ever stood up to the Democrat lies. They can kiss my ass.

I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard that Bob Dole was attacking Newt Gingrich because he comes up with too many new ideas, fights with Democrats and can’t win an election. So I guess that Bob Dole taught us all that getting along with Democrats and avoiding new ideas like the plague is the key to winning in a landslide.

I specifically remember Newt callling Dole, “the tax collector for the welfare state.” Now, you can go ahead and say what you like...but do you really expect Dole to praise Gingrich when he went out of his way to disrespect everyone—from the Senate majority leader to the first lady—and to have them turn around and praise him???

All I’m saying, don’t expect people to praise you when you have gone out of your way to piss them off. Talk about the 11th Commandment, the former speaker is throwing rocks in his own glass house-and dissing the “establishment” and all you guys want them turn around and bow down in front of him? What goes around, comes around. Rule of the story, don’t piss people off on your climb to the top—especially in your own party.

Wrong, we don’t expect them to praise Newt. We just expect them to be honest. Tell us that Newt forced them to not raise taxes when they wanted to and that he hurt their feelings by calling them names. Don’t spin this stuff that Newt is “erratic.”

At least Bush, Sr. was honest when he endorsed Romney, and said he was against Newt because of Newt’s opposition to his raising taxes. You didn’t see much angry sliming of Bush, Sr. as I recall. We accepted it, understood his difference of opinion and moved on.
