Roseanne Barr threw her hat into the presidential ring last night, announcing during an appearance on The Tonight Show that she would be running in the 2012 presidential election.
I am running for President of the United States, the former Roseanne star said as she was showered by confetti. Im totally serious, cause I want to be part of the debates, because, you know, I want to represent the taxpayers. (RELATED: Alec Baldwin says HuffPo commenters reading comprehension downright awful)
Barr said she would be forming a new political party, the American Green Tea Party, to support her campaign

She knows when Ron Paul drops out that she would pick up the Nut vote.
You just can't make this up. Will Jane Fonda lead the Pledge of Allegiance?
Oh good grief.
Well: She hasn’t been working lately and she needs some publicity.
Take two asprin and call us in the morning, Rosie.
I can top your last posting. Just read this and try to believe it.
If Barr threw her girdle into the ring, it would kill everyone within 30 feet of it.
I guess there is no sanity test for those who run for the presidency. Otherwise she would be ‘Barr-ed’ for life.
This is one Barr I wouldn’t like to go into.
Where is Eddy Barr now that we need him? (for rocking chair seniors only)
Have you ever seen Candy Barr? (Another one for the old-timers).
She’ll sing the National Anthem at every campaign rally.
Hmmm, Heaven forbids if it comes to it ... Mitt or ....?
Well, she’s got the crotch-grabbing vote locked up, that’s for sure.
It’s a career ending move for a woman who has never been funny, interesting or positive in her life.
Rosie, are you under the impression this campaign wasn’t absurd enough already?
I will say this, and only half ironically...I’d rather see Tom Arnold get in.
Presumably she will be running as the All MEEEEE All The Time party's candidate!!
Shades of Pat Paulson - another useless Hollyweirder seeking attention comes out to . . . . . . . seek attention!! At least Pat Paulson was funny.
Older Freepers may recall that on the long ago Smothers Brothers tv show there was a comic named Pat Paulsen who declared his candidacy as part of an ongoing comedic bit. However, the Feds treated his obviously satiric role seriously (govt bureaucrats not being known for having any sense of humor) and Paulsen was thereafter regarded as a real candidate.
It ruined his career. After the Feds declared him to a serious, or at least a real, candidate, no one would have him on their show because if they did all the other candidates could demand to also be on due to equal time requirements. Ok, so the major parties would just ignore that but not so some of the candidates further down the ticket. For example, if he was given time some dolt from the Socialist Workers Party could demand to be given equal time and the program or station would have to provide it.
So, too, with Roseanne I should think. If her candidacy is considered real we may not see her again on tv or hear her on theradio until after the election. Now that is something I would definitely vote for.
That's raci . . . um, anti-femini . . . . er, FATISM!!!!
