"I'm not anti-immigrant. My father was born in Mexico. My wife's father was born in Wales. They came to this country. The idea that i'm anti-immigrant is repulsive. ... I'm not going around and rounding people up and deporting them. ... I'm not going to find grandmothers and deport them"

Romney IMPLIES that his great grandfather was a Mexican immigrant. Well the true story is his great grandfather was Miles Romney, who was running from the law and left Utah with his numerous wives instead of going to prison. Once in Mexico he settled right in and probably got himself three or four more wives. Romney has nothing at all in common with an immigrant from Mexico and neither did his law-breaking, polygamist grandfather. But alot of hispanics watching the debate last night will think this sleazy used car salesman has an hispanic heritage. He absolutely does not. But that still does not keep him from pandering to hispanics and never setting the record straight when he mentions his wayward grandpa who went to Mexico instead of going to prison in the United States.

It’s interesting that his father, George Romney, was born in Mexico. Yet he was a major candidate for president in the Republican primaries in 1968, and the fact that he was born in another country was never mentioned. Nobody made an issue of whether he was really a natural born citizen at that time.

What’s the implication here? That Jeffords is related to Romney? Do you think people are stupid enough to believe that? Romney may have some Hispanic heritage. Maybe one of his grandfather’s wives was Mexican and Romney may be a descendant of that union. I don’t know and I don’t care. What is important is that Romney has been married to one wife—his high school sweetheart—and from all the info out there it has been a mutally loving and faithful relationship without mistresses and adulterous behavior. Ann Romney is certainly not Romney’s former mistress.

And IIRC the Romneys were chased out of Mexico because of their religion and their practice of polygamy.

And none of Romney´s family has ever been in the service. Not one. Ever! How´d they swing that?

The implication is that both Rmoney and Jeffs belong to the same dishonest organization.

And your point is? Should it be made a requirement to run for office?

Romney’s grandfather had 3 - or was it 5? - wives with him when he fled to Mexico. Maybe Romney would like to discuss his 3 grandmothers?

Romney’s grandfather moved back to the US because he did not want to bring up his children in Mexico (George Romney was quite young at the time, IIRC), and also because the polygamy thing was unpopular with the locals.

The lds-org denies that Jesus is the Creator of the Universe, that all things were created THROUGH Him, BY Him and FOR Him.

They have stolen the Name and the Identity of Jesus Christ.

But the burning question is did daddy ever get naturalized as a US citizen and if he did was that before or after Mittens was born? Look what happened last time we ended up with a non-NBC.

I am a Newt supporter and I was disappointed to see his blatant pandering for the illegal vote. He is to the left of Romney on immigration. It may help him win Florida but Hispanics will vote overwhelmingly for Obama as they did the last time.

Mitt’s family belong to the Nation of Mormonism. It wouldn’t matter if it were Shanghai, Cuba, Germany or the USA. His loyalty is to his compadres in Mormonland.

He supposedly dropped out early so there was no need to persue it. Anyone can run for office but the rules change (or are supposed to change) when it gets down to candidates getting the nod and certifications are filed.

Absolutely not. The Romneys never intermarried with a Mexican. Do the research. They keep it squeaky clean and white. The only Mexicans the Romneys knew were housekeepers and bean pickers.
