(Editorial) Journalism: As the president launches his re-election bid by striking a more centrist tone, the partisan press is helping him whitewash his radical past.
Obama first learned Alinsky's rules in the 1980s, when Alinskyite radicals with the Chicago-based Alinsky group Gamaliel Foundation recruited, hired, trained and paid him as a community organizer in South Side Chicago.
In 1988, Obama even wrote a chapter for the book "After Alinsky: Community Organizing in Illinois," in which he lamented organizers' "lack of power" in implementing change.
Gamaliel board member John McKnight, a hard-core student of Alinsky, penned a letter for Obama to help him get into Harvard Law School.
Obama took a break from his Harvard studies to travel to Los Angeles for eight days of intense training at Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation, a station of the cross for acolytes.
In turn, he trained other community organizers in Alinsky agitation tactics.
Obama also taught Alinsky's "Power Analysis" methods at the University of Chicago.
During the presidential campaign, Obama hired one of his Gamaliel mentors, Mike Kruglik, to train young campaign workers in Alinsky tactics at "Camp Obama," a school set up at Obama headquarters in Chicago. The tactics helped Obama capture the youth vote like no other president before him.
Power would no longer be an issue, as Obama infiltrated the highest echelon of the political establishment the White House fulfilling Alinsky's vision of a new "vanguard" of coat-and-tie radicals who "work inside the system" to change the system.
After the election, his other Gamaliel mentor, Jerry Kellman, helped the Obama administration establish Organizing for America, which mobilizes young supporters to agitate for Obama's legislative agenda using "Rules for Radicals." (excerpted)

According to Alinsky, the organizer especially a paid organizer from outside must first overcome suspicion and establish credibility. Next the organizer must begin the task of agitating: rubbing resentments, fanning hostilities, and searching out controversy. Through a process combining hope and resentment, the organizer tries to create a mass army that brings in as many recruits as possible from local organizations, churches, services groups, labor unions, corner gangs, and individuals. http://www.vcn.bc.ca/citizens-handbook/rules.html.
You'll have to read the article online because I had to excerpt the heck out of it to get it posted, lol.
I want to know more about the George Romney and Alinsky ties.
Then the candidates themselves need to grow some balls and remind the country.
Very worthwhile to read this entire article, and see the lengths Soledad Ob is willing to go to cover up for Obama.
As one of the comments from the IBD article said, this is the gift that would keep on giving to Republicans if they’d only use it to its full advantage against Obama.
So far the ONLY one willing to use it is NEWT.
He’s the only one smart enough to use it.
It’s not just CNN either. Recently on Fox Allen Colmes made the preposterous claim that just because Obama employed the tactics of Alinsky doesn’t mean he shared the philosophy of Alinsky.
As usual O’Reilly failed to press Colmes on the issue.
Zero has never dealt with a real opponent and will soon get a lesson.
You see that in his attacks on "fat cat bankers," "greedy health insurers" and "millionaires and billionaires."
He also readily applies Alinsky's fifth rule of "ridiculing" the opposition.
Interesting article and was worth the read.
Obama’s past is deep and murky. If you ask about it you are racist.
That’s just the way it is.
I agree that Newt would go medieval on Obumbles.
I just don’t reall have anyone that I feel passionate about but I will CRAWL to the booth next November.

And, this is a surprise to whom!!???
“Obamas past is deep and murky. If you ask about it you are racist.”
Too true, kjo. And it’s not just CNN who demures at illustrating BHO’s anAmerican past. Not Rush nor Drudge nor Hannity, and certainly not Beck, have the cojones to mount a concerted attack on Obama’s origins. Obama’s upbringing is riddled with exactly the kind of foreign influence the Framers attempted to protect us from by requiring “natural born Citizen” status for the office of POTUS.
Where’s the national reporting on the recent, first-ever court hearing in Georgia which finally admitted testimony and evidence in a complaint about Obama’s ineligibility?
It’s as stupid to worry about Saul Alinsky as it is to worry about Sun Tzu. The tactics are there for anybody to study and anybody to use, and congratulations to whoever does it best. They deserve to win if the other side can’t figure out how to use the same tactics even better.
