Rush calling out the article portraying Newt as anti Reagan

For those sure that Rush is anti Newt, he talked about Abrams being food sped Newt info out of context. Jeffrey Lord wrote and article calling out the inaccuracies in the article. Also said Sanatorum had best debate. All this from a guy in the tank for Mitt (sarcasm)

Lots of comments how Rush was in tank for Mitt and against Newt. As I have said, Rush has never been in the tank with the establishment. Not sure where he is on this election, but not in tank for Romney.

All this crap that Romney has been spewing will come back and bite him right in the A$$....guess he forgot that there are 48 more states he needs to go through and he’s just about out of ammo.....

Even if Newt come in second......he will eat Romney the liar for lunch once his lies are addressed.

Romney/RNC burning their bridges behind them in their zeal to get him the nomination.

2 million less hits at Drudge !?

Translate that into non-votes for Romney as the base sits on it`s hands again as it did with McCain.

Romney RNC nomination = Obama 2nd term

I think Rush is where a lot of folks are right now. Hoping that a conservative would rise to the challenge in this primary. Enjoyed Newt’s initial rise, but bothered by the Bain class warfare/populist approach he took after Iowa. Also, accepting that we are very possibly going to be stuck with Romney and not going after him too much so the words can be used all fall against him.

Hear, hear!!
He quoted Romney as have said during the debate that we shouldn't be afraid of Obamacare - and praised Santorum for ripping Romney a new one over it!

Cookie is defiant. She’s giving me a minute and a half after of the Newt bite and she’s insistent that nobody’s doctored this and nobody’s changed — and I’ve read the transcript, that’s true. Newt still says look, the eighties were great but we gotta look forward, people — people care about the future, da-da-da-da-da. He praises Reagan in the bite, which the first — the — the excerpted bite doesn’t include any of but it doesn’t change the fact that while praising Reaganism, he still says to George Bush, you — you’re wasting your time if you campaign on Reaganism. Nobody wants more of the past. We want to look forward, nothing changes about that. So the — the Cookster was right.

OK let’s go back to defeating the Soviet Union and see how that works out.

Jeffrey Lord on Elliott Abrams making an ass of himself as a tool of the GOP Establishment.

Romney's people were circulating a video supposedly showing Newt trashing Reagan back in 1988. Here you can see the same video in context.

Too damn little, too damn late.

Rush knew or should have known this YESTERDAY, before the debate. Frankly, I think he knew.

I believe Rush is getting heat and he is trying a wee bit of damage control.

As for Rush being in the tank for Romney, I am not convinced one way or the other, he is a very clever man. Rush is in the tank for Rush, and he damn sure isn’t putting his country first.

“2 million less hits at Drudge !?”

If true, that is fantastic news. It might also be why Rush was defending the Drudge site this morning.

Yep. Jeffrey Lord’s article was posted here yesterday and Jeffrey Lord was a guest on Mark Levin’s, (The Great One’s) radio show yesterday.

Day late and a dollar short, Rush.

Plus, Rush is failing to mention that Santorum has canceled all his Florida events to return home.

Rush is not in the tank for Mitt.

I think he's trying to play it fair but I don't think Mitt is is first choice.

Paul, of course, is Rush's last choice.

Who cares. The time for Rush to have called "BULLSHEIT" was 30 seconds after his show started YESTERDAY.
But he quoted the articles and then did his best "I know nothing" impression of Sgt Schultz finally saying that the anti-Newt articles did not match his personal memory of Newt.
C'mon folks. Rush took a lot of credit for the Newt's contract with America victory of the House back in 1994 and he knew Newt as well as anyone. You can't tell me that Rush didn't know the anti-Newt stories weren't completely bogus.

Rush gave credibility to the lying Elliot Abrams, almost going to ‘jail’ BS without verifying the FACTS. Sloppy work for somebody who claims to be right 90 something percent of the time. HE failed and flopped ‘big time’.

Remember Rush only likes to deal with those who are the ‘best’ at what they do. The devil is the best at what he does.

“Sadly, its post debate and Rush finding this out is 24 hours later than what it should have been.”

Limbaugh is just backpedalling furiously. His Gingrich attacks are not working, nor are Dole’s, Abrams’, McCain’s endorsements etc. Limbaugh has a finely-tuned political ear, and he knows he can only go so far before his audience realizes fully what he is up to, and that would ruin his credibility.

Yep.... apparently Mark is intelligent and Rush is stupid.... or there is some other reason. Now, I don’t for a second think that Rush is stupid, so there IS another reason for his game playing.

BTW, one of the reasons that Santorum looked better last night is because he wasn’t under an orchestrated attack. If Santorum pulls in votes from last night, they will likely come from Newt, thus to the benefit of Romney. Scam, lies and more scam.

GO NEWT GO......this is not just about picking a president, it’s about the very survival of our country!!

It won’t help him, not with me.

It is a curse I live with, but I am a love-hate kinda guy. I don’t love him anymore.

You'd think Santorum would understand that. He's canceled all his Florida events and he's left the state.

Has Rush mentioned that fact yet, during all his glowing Santorum praise?

This is 2012, Rush has been a Romney supporter since 2007.

Yesterday was a day of shame and coming out for conservative pretenders, people who used to be thought of as members of the conservative movement.

Rush, Drudge, Tyrell, and others will never be trusted again by conservatives as they go the way of David Frum and Ann Coulter.

We have learned that beyond the establishment battle lines that we knew of, there was a deeper layer among us, a fire wall, Rush Limbaugh and Drudge had to expose themselves to keep Newt from taking Florida, which probably would have broken the Romney campaign.

Already today, now that the debate is over, the rescuing body blow already delivered, Rush is pretending to be back among us, as though yesterday and the previous weeks and months, and the five years of supporting Romney, never happened.

Thanks for saying EXACTLY what I have been thinking. Not listening to Rush today (because of what he did yesterday), but getting a pretty good idea of the apparent mea culpa he's pulling today from posts here at Free Republic.

Too little ...too late ...damage is done. But Rush/Drudge/Coulter/Fox News are fools if they think they have pulled the wool over our conservative eyes.

I never thought I would say this, but if the Tea Party offers up a valid conservative candidate, I will vote for them. Other than that, I will NEVER vote for Mitt Romney.

The irony is that I believe the aforementioned group (with many, many others I could have included) know that Mittens will never win the general election. So just why are they pushing so hard???

Sorry toooo little toooo late. I knew without digging up the ‘special orders’ that Abrams was LYING about Newt.
Here's the link to the American Spectator Blog piece.
Thou shall NOT bear false witness.
Rush didn't - and he also didn't shoot from the hip. He questioned the hit piece the first day, based on his memory. And then on the second day he had confirmation of his recollection, and condemned the hit piece flat out. For myself, I'm more comfortable with that style than I am with someone who shoots from the hip. It's why I prefer the editorial page of the newspaper to the front page of the paper. The editorial page is written by people who aren't pretending to omniscience, whereas the front page practices on our credulity when it invites the assumption that it is "objective."
