As it is, for those who actually listen to Rush, Hannity, and Levin, you're just making yourself look more than a little foolish.

It's a strange situation.

Some don't listen. But believe what they hear.

Others listen. But do not hear.

Missed Hannity tonight. What did Kraut say? Is he no longer claiming that Mittens is the annointed one?

It's a business for Rush et al; they're trying to keep all of their listeners happy; but, they're not really doing anything to help Newt and some have done some damage of late.

For instance, I know Rush has a huge audience and likely has some Romney supporters amongst his listeners as well as Santorum supporters. Rush wants and needs to at least keep his market share to keep his profits up. I can understand that; I just hate his duplicity after all his previous histrionics that’ve gotten everyone so churned up they believe it's the end of the world if we can't elect a Conservative. So, now that the primaries are here, suddenly, Rush can't seem to endorse either Newt or Santorum over arch-liberal Romney. Does that make any sense? Of course it doesn't.

My conclusion is that this election cannot be as life or death important as Rush and others opined over the past many months if Rush can't make the simple decision to call out Romney for what he is ...a liberal, a liar and a phony.

I think Rush's and several of the others jobs are to keep the Conservative base fragmented and fired up for the GOP-E so that we can then be stampeded at the last moment into supporting whatever candidate they foist on us. The elitists do it every time; and then blame us when they lose ...as they did when McCain lost. No one can convince me there is a significant difference between Romney and Obama; they're both evil and dangerous to the Republic; but, Romney could well be worse; especially if he has a complicitous group of GOP elitists in the House and Senate.

So, what does all this get us if we vote for Romney? The same thing voting for Dole and McCain did; nothing. Isn't this the same as the old proverb that defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? They're using us as pawns and they will never respect us if we keep giving in to them. It's like the wife or girlfriend who gets beaten up time and again by her husband/boyfriend and keeps coming back for more because she believes he truly loves her. Sad, very sad.

I'm not playing that game anymore; I will go rogue if Romney is nominated. I've given the GOP over 40 years of consistent voting support at the local, state and federal levels; that's more than enough.

If the GOP elitists want Romney so badly they are willing to lie, cheat and totally negate any of my choices (GOP elites have locked the VA primary so that Romney and Ron Paul are the only ones on the ballot ...I can't even write in Newt!); that's fine; but, they can do it w/o my vote or support. I will lodge a protest vote of some kind and try to get as many Tea Party Conservatives as possible elected at the local, state and Congressional levels.

So, as one of my old bosses liked to say; “Sir, I believe we're in violent agreement upon that!”

‘’I think the one candidate of the three still out there on our side that matter... in saying who more closely embodies all three legs of this conservative stool, you’d have to say that it’s Mitt Romney. There’s actually no choice in the matter.’’ (Monday, Feb 4, 2008)

Rush, Hannity, Beck, Levin, all - under direction of Premier Radio, a subsidiary of Clear Channel Radio, majority owned by Bain Cap!

They all have the same Mitt Rombama script of "Romney is the most electable conservative" (who the eff' can ever call him a conservative?).

Meaning you?

Of course not meaning me. But thanks for a reply that more than adequately illustrates the situation.

I have listened to Rush since his first year as a nationally syndicated host. Same for Sean. Same for Mark Levin. I listen to them in part or in whole, depending on what I'm doing, every broadcast day. I've been a member of Rush 24/7 since the beginning. What you've said above is simply not true.

It looks as though you've jumped on the conspiracy bandwagon of "Bain Capital is telling these guys what to say." Please, join the DU. They have way more entertaining conspiracies than this.

You've forgotten to add the "or else" part: Bain Capital tells these guys they're going to support and promote Romney or else. Or else what? Their shows will be taken off the air? And who will that hurt? The owners of the broadcast network. And what about the majority owner? Is that owner going to stand by and let a minority owner, Bain, dictate to the top moneymaking hosts what they can or cannot say and threaten to take them off the air if they don't follow orders? None of these guys is going to sign a contract that has a clause saying, "Oh, and you must support Romney or we'll can you." The advertisers also would have a fit.

It's the big conservative radio hosts who have Bain by the balls, not vice versa. Without their shows, their radio network may as well be Air America.

Congratulations on your clarity of understanding the spoken word...and your firm grasp of the radio business.

Unlike others, whom I shall not mention.

Pity - a DU reference because our views differ. Different movement afoot...You might try it. We have common enemies and differing opinions. Personally, a atheist in my fighting hole need not be concerned about friendly fire. He might be in danger in yours.

No, because your fantasies and their tenuous relationship to reality resemble theirs.
